why is Pat Robertson against John McCain?
Edited on Sun May-01-05 01:10 PM by Eric J in MN
On an interview this morning on "This Week," Pat Robertson said he could support Rudy Giuliani for president, in spite of their differences on social issues, but that he would vote against John McCain "under any circumstances."

John McCain is "pro-life" on abortion, and Rudy Giuliani is pro-choice.

So why does Pat Robertson prefer Giuliani of the two?

(neither of whom is his first choice.)

6. There would be something deeply rewarding
and profoundly amusing about Robertson endorsing this man:

7. Sinclair Broadcasting VP Mark Hyman did an anti-McCain TV editorial
A couple of months ago Mark Hyman did a TV editorial that ran on all of their TV stations dredging up McCain's scandal back in the Savings and Loan debacle many years ago. The Tom Delay scandals were just heating up so it so it was obvious that Hyman brought up such an old irrelevant scandal as a way to distract and redirect viewers from Tom Delay plus RWingers are not happy that McCain is not going along with their attempt to do away with filibusters and some other hot button issues. McCain and Chuck Hagel and Lindsey Graham are perceived as loose cannons who will compromise with Dems and don't toe the Bushit line 100% so they are criticized periodically in an attempt to rein them in.

10. It may have something to do with Mc Cain helping save Robertsons life.
After "Mission Accomplished" Robertson was ready to rush right in and start converting those "followers of a pedophile moon goddess worshiper." They would have cut his tongue out or put a bullet in him before he could finish that sentance. Robertson even turned against Bush after taking that money out of his pocket. Bush carved him out of the tithings of this war. But you know what they say about the fundies. Fools rush in where wise men fear to tread and no good deed ever goes unpunished.

11. Justice Sunday
McCain is one of those against the "nuclear option". That is getting the short-term wrath from Robertson.
