Bush has plans to sell Grand Canyon National Park, Statue of Liberty , ..
and other landmarks to pay off national debt. Not really, but if he did, how would the press report it? Would his supporters still support him on the idea? Would Hannity and Limbaugh and all the right-wing radio airbags sell it to the people? What would they say? Nothing seems impossible with this bunch. It is so discouraging knowing that they can get away with anything...even selling national monuments if they tried. I have no confidence in this government, the press, or the people. It's depressing...

6. That photo's just SICK.
Could we PLEASE find out whoever this dumb-ass is, and let her on DU free and clear for the purpose of schooling her drooling glazed mug? GOD.

Hey drooler - hope you like worshipping an administration whose runaway spending and corporate catering pretty much assures your KIDS will never retire, much less yourself. Still smiling, jackass?

That woman needs some perspective.

2. don't be surprised when it happens...
during reagans reign, my siblings and i treated our parents to their first and only cruise. they got back, and my dad was saying that there was a speaker on the cruise giving a presentation. the jist of his presentation was that the national debt was AOK, nothing to worry about.

why not?, you ask.

because the u.s. has vast quantities of public land that can be sold to private interests to raise the money to pay off the debt.

so, this plan has been in effect for that long, anyway.

3. He'd have Limpballs railing on about
how the canyon is just a useless hole in the ground that is costing taxpayers money. Hannity would be screeching "It's your money, why should it be going into that bottomless pit." Jeez, they'd have the freepers fired up in no time.

As for the Statue of Liberty, that one's easy. It was given to us by the dreaded French. Hell, they wouldn't think twice about selling it for scrap.

8. OMG..I have "dibs" on Liberty
I have a Statue of Liberty collection. I wonder what they will take for her. You think I could have her delivered to Cincinnati?

Oh gawd the possibilities, I could store the rest of my collection in her base...WOW

11. Rush would probably love to fill the Grand Canyon with water and make
a big lake for fishing and boating. Wouldn't bother him at all.
