And another thing you rich celebrity assholes and your fans!
I have to shop for my sheets then PAY for them, then wash them, then make my own damn bed!!!!!!!!!

This is for all the Americans who worship at the alter of their favorite movie star or music star or for crying out loud politician star! You people are irrational in your degree of infatuation whereby you eat the Corporate Media spoon fed, no wait, IV mainline of PR that tells you these top 1%ers buy organic sheets or eat Ben and Jerry's, or drive a Prius or hold a starving baby in Africa.

It's called Marketing...a pretty word for propaganda you twitbrains!

While there may be a few, very damn few celebrities (and I speak of those in the NOW taking up valuable public airwaves) who actually walk the talk and do something substantial. The vast majority of your super face-timers are in it for the cash and the fame.

Seriously, do you think someone who has millions of dollars, yet drives a Prius for photo-ops is really Saving The World? How about their entourage? Bet they drive ahead of a 5 car long Range Rover/Escalade caravan. Bet their couple of empty mansions eat up shitloads of energy for heating and cooling rooms and rooms of wasted Pretty space.

Get a grip people. Celebrity worship is toxic for many reasons, but the worst is turning good liberals into simpering defenders of other human beings because they are sexy.

Note: This is not anti-wealth. Note: This is not anti-attaining celebrated status for accomplishments.

Note: This IS about Americans thinking they are so savvy about how propaganda is used politically, yet give a pass to the world of entertainment.

Corporate News has become Infotainment and some of Entertainment has become Enternews.

7. Oh my god!!!! Did he really?
I wouldn't think so because he's active with helping to end world hunger and the Bushists only help create it.

What if you worship dead celebrities (like Groucho Marx and Jimi Hendrix).

6. Agree Agree Agree
The only one I can think of off of the top of my head is Tom Hanks. I remember reading something where he donates a ton of his money and I do know that he drives an electric car (still fossil fuel for the energy, but hey at least he is trying).

8. Don't underestimate
the power of people like Sean Penn, Susan Sarandon, Tim Robbins, Whoopi, Jeanane Garafalo, Michael Moore, Barbara Streisand, etc. - these off the top of my head. Why do you think they get demonized? Because they're on the right side of the Left and the right HATES them! Don't brush everyone with such broad strokes - they have $$ and many of them are putting their money where their mouths are and despite the shit they've gotten, they continue to speak! So there.

9. Maybe those folks fall into the category "gives a shit"

noted in my post as walks the talk.

When is the last time you saw magazine/TV covers and print news speaking about those exact people you listed?

Never.

When Tim Robbins and Bob Robertson (?) make the CNN news focus like the stupid-should-be-jailed-runaway-bride did, I'll buy your estimate.

10. So you're judging Robbins based on CNN editorial decisions?
Makes a lot of sense.

11. Give me a break.
Robbins is NOT, I repeat, NOT one of those celebs that keep the TV channels and magazines churning now is he?

Too bad. He is actually one of the more politically responsible actors around...with his directing as well as acting.

So, did you miss the boat partner? :)
