Show us your patriotic dissent! Post pics of your car's stickers!
I know I should offer mine up first but the thought just hit me. What do you all have on your cars?

Post some pics of your patriotic dissent!

I will say mine has:

Bush Was Wrong All Along
Republicans Against Bush
America's No CARB Diet (referring to Cheney, Ashcroft, Rumsfeld, & *)
Feel Safer Now?
Circle/Slash W
Keep Your Religion Out Of My Government
Can't Wait Until 2008

And my "EVOLVE" fish plaque :)

2. I have a small sign in the back window of my truck camper top:
Edited on Tue May-03-05 01:51 PM by CottonBear
"As democracy is perfected, the office of president represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron."

H.L. Mencken (1880 - 1956)

Hee hee! This is easily read by anyone behind me at a red light. I word in an ultra-conservative area with a "W" sticker on every other vehicle. (I sometimes have to remove the sign when I drive my truck for work purposes so I don't usually put any actual stickers on it.)

49. Good for you!
Those people are annoying. I don't know how long you have been in the area, but as a native I'm really disturbed with the direction the valley is going. It's always been pretty conservative here, but it's beginning to resemble parts of the south with the rise of the evangelical movement (have you seen the new compounds that belong to Big Valley Grace Church and Calvary Temple? They're huge!)

50. Life long resident.
Graduate of Davis High :)

And I agree about the conservatives. The Modesto area has always had a large number of churches, in fact, I remember back in the 80's there was a survey that put us in the top 20 nationwide for our church/population ratio. The thing is, I don't remember ANY of them being particularly evangelical. Sure, we always had the Mormons and the JW's knocking on our doors, but most people kept their religion private and didn't publically flaunt it. This wave of hyperconservative evangelism started in the mid-90's and I have NO clue where it came from. My first reaction would be all of the new residents moving in, but since most are from the Bay Area you'd think that they'd be more liberal than traditional Valley residents.

Personally, I still attend the same nonevangelical Catholic church that I was baptized in as a baby :)
