trouble in freeperville. They're eating their own:

An Open Letter to Mr. Jim Robinson
April/25/05 | jveritas

Posted on 04/25/2005 6:13:10 AM PDT by jveritas

What is happening to Free Republic Mr. Robinson? The Bush Haters and Republican Haters are getting louder and more daring by the hour. These phony conservatives who claim the Conservatism purity are savagely attacking President Bush and the GOP as bad as the worst liberals.

The Bash Bush feast is becoming a part of every thread. Everywhere you see Bush is a traitor, Bush wants to sell our sovereignty to Mexico, Bush is a liberal, Bush has no spine, Bush is destroying our economy, Bush is puppet in Vincent Fox hand, Bush is this Bush is that, everything wrong in this world is Bush fault.

Nothing but doom and gloom is coming from these phony conservatives. For them our economy is destroyed, liberals are controlling the government, the GOP will be finished by 2006, Mexico has invaded the US and changed its identity, China is superior to us, we are no more a superpower, and on and on and on. Every minor bump in the road is turned into a Mount Everest of catastrophe and disaster

Either Free Republic will remain the Premier political forum on the internet, a site to advance the real conservative cause and provide great and continuous support to our President Bush and the Republican Party, or it will be forum controlled by bitter and delusional phony conservatives who can never win on the ballot box, and come to FR to poison the atmosphere through their extreme kooky rhetoric and turn it into another Dummyland.

Enough is Enough.

1. They're not very good with words are they?
My daugher writes better than that, and she's in grade school. I like the "Bush is a liberal" part. HAHAHAHAHAHA. Who is "Vincent" Fox? "Bush is puppet?"

These people are funny.

Hey, kudos to you for one of the best thread titles I've seen! I love it!

2. Laughing to keep my head from exploding
from the multiple layers of overlapping delusion in that last paragraph:

"Either Free Republic will remain the Premier political forum on the internet, a site to advance the real conservative cause and provide great and continuous support to our President Bush and the Republican Party, or it will be forum controlled by bitter and delusional phony conservatives.... "

The only way I can describe my reaction to that is

 :wtf:  :wtf:  :wtf:  :wtf:

5. I thought links to the dark side were verboten
Good to see they are asking questions.

It is only by examining your beliefs, by testing and making sure of your ideas that you can know that they are true or not. Everyone needs to examine their faith, and raise questions and think. It is dangerous to close yourself from the outside and prevernt self examination.

after reading this:

"Had he been challenged by, say someone like Zell Miller (wtf?!), he'd be back in Crawford Texas now, lamenting his old DUI ticket, his non-service to ACTIVE duty during a time when the country needed him, and his lack of gonads about the real issues facing America. Bush, IMHO, is a warmed-over version of his old man (the only mistake that Saint (wtf?!) Ronald Reagan ever made was giving the Herbert Walker "Read-My-Lips Voodoo Economics" Bush's a foot inside the door of the WH, thereby establishing a legacy where Junior and Jeb can show their real color--yellow--and bow out when courage is needed--i.e. Terry Shiavo)."

(emphasis and "wtf?!" mine)

Ooooooo.....so close to reality, and yet so very, very far....

13. Entertaining, I guess....
but I got sucked into the vortex and couldn't get out!

Seriously though, I'd have been more heartened if the gist had been that Bush had gone too far than that he was not nutso enough to suit them.

Deranged people ..... :scared:

14. It's happening on many conservative forums
I came to DU after a stint of being one of a handful of liberals on a heavily conservative board. My last post was a rant on "Hate is not a Christian value!" which promptly got me banned as I knew it would. ha. Nevertheless, I still check in there periodically just to see what the "other side" is up to and - lo and behold - the tone is now more liberal as many more folks see the writing on the wall with the Bush* Club and are jumping ship.

It only takes one or two vocal and well-respected posters to get the herd moving in another direction and people are pissed off enough that a slow stampede is rumbling in the distance. The pendulum always swings.....

And those good citizens are loyal despite the lies that get revealed.
They BELIEVE! They want their children to be in the band and protected from the 'evils' of the big bad world.

Well, sometimes illusions are more comforting than the harsh realities of a complex world in the midst change.

Oh, we got trouble....
