Geraldo not sure Faux is right for him
Geraldo On The Loose
By DON KAPLAN
NEW YORK POST

Geraldo Rivera appears to be trawling for a new job.

The war reporter and news-show host, who reportedly took a $3 million pay cut in 2001 to join Fox News Channel, is quoted in the recent edition of the Atlantic Monthly saying: "It's hard to be a show of record when you're on weekends."

(snip)

His four-year deal with the nation's most-watched news network expires in November. And Rivera wonders aloud if sticking with Fox is right for him.

"The problem with Fox and me is they're wildly successful," he says. "Where are you going to put me? Who are you going to knock out? Every single slot is filled.

(snip)

"But wherever I go - I could go to the lamest cable network, I could go to Court TV, I could go to Trio, I could go to Bravo - make one up, and I know my show will do respectably against the competition. And I know that. And they know that.

15. Three Cheers for Uncle Floyd!
I used to watch that after school on UHF....Channel 68 in East Orange NJ? That was the greatest show ever. I still remember when they had a sculpting class and they were recreating a Popeye piggy bank. The time they spent on the chin just about left this 10-year-old in stiches!

17. Yep, channel 68. And then the NJ Network. I miss Floyd. And Hugo...
I was already an adult when I discovered Floyd. Every punk band in NY was always on that show (the Ramones were on it around 50 times).

Floyd and the cast used to do a live show a couple of times a year at the Bottom Line here in the Village. They worked very blue; absolutely filthy!

23. I never made any of the Bottom Line shows
but I did manage to make it to one of the "conventions". I still cherish my autographed photo of Floyd and my "More Eddie Slobbo!" button.

I sent in a drawing once for "Pictures On The Wall"... it was around the time of the Yankee Franks TV ads with Luis Tiant's tag line "I like to be with a winner". Well, in Luis' accent, I think you can figure out what that sounded like. So I did a drawing of my hero, Thurman Munson, standing at a NYY clubhouse urinal taking a whiz and saying "I like to be with a wiener".

The picture didn't make it. Damn! And I thought it was pretty good, too. I only showed Thurm from the back, so I don't think that was it.

24. LOL! That's so cool!
:yourock:

At the Bottom Line shows, you had to be careful not to sit too near the stage, as Loony Skip Rooney would spray down most of the front row tables with seltzer.

10. Fox has a great lineup of tabloid shills
why would they let go of such a powerhouse bullshit artist? I don't see the longterm gains for them - they'd be losing somebody who have no integrity and no credibility. They can't just let people like that go.

20. I like Geraldo
~ducking. It takes all kinds I guess. He was the only one I ever watched on Fox..cause he is like the tabloids..he may stumble on the truth cause he's the only one asking the question. But Faux isn't going to let him show it.

21. Eh, Don't Duck. Rita COSBY Eats His Lunch, That's All
He had his own niche. He lost his idiot-niche when he went to Faux. He was pitiful going over there and begging. When he first arrived, it was de riguer that he go on all of the Faux circuses and kiss up with all the talent. When he went on O'LOOFAH's circus, O'LOOFAH said, "What do YOU have that we already don't have on (Faux)?"

It was true. Rita had already staked out her own spot, which was a candy version of him. She interviews bad-boys--------MILOSEVIC, whassiname the O.K. terrorist, the relatives of countless bad-boys, always offering ACCEPTANCE of their badness, CHRISTIAN acceptance of their noteriety.

It was priceless on one of their shared stories. Both of them were sitting next to each other with the Faux circus host pro-mo-ing their upcoming shows on the same topic. Jerry couldn't even LOOK at her. She reached over with her KINDNESS and touched his knee. No look from him.

Come on, Jerry-------leave Faux. Write a book. I'll buy it.

22. I saw something strange earlier this year.
Geraldo was at the site of the mudslide in CA. and was talking to O'Reilly about his trip to Hollywood and his meeting with Clooney (re: Tsunami relief). Geraldo asked how O'Reilly liked being around those "liberal pinheads" and BAM! Fox went immediatelly to commercial. It was if he said something he shouldn't of.
This liberal pinhead didn't know what to make of that.

25. He destroyed his career by moving to Faux and going Neocon
The Neocons hate him still and anybody who ever watched him before will never watch him again.

He Millered himself before Miller did it.
