Rat on your pro-Arab professors here! (Campus Watch)
Campus Watch is a project of the Middle East Forum, headed by PNACer Daniel Pipes.

"MEF also sponsors Campus Watch, a project that "monitors and critiques Middle East studies in North America, with an aim to improving them." What this means in practice is that Campus Watch attacks university professors and departments that are perceived as harboring pro-Arab sympathies, "working for the mullahs" or encouraging "militant Islam." Its web site provides a form to report on "Middle East-related scholarship, lectures, classes, demonstrations, and other activities relevant to Middle East studies" and lists academics that 'Campus Watch has identified as apologists for Palestinian and Islamist violence.'"

http://www.prwatch.org/prwissues/2002Q4/war.html

Here's the link to the webpage where you rat on professors who displease PNAC:

With a few quick changes, this form can be used to rat on LIBERALS or GAYS or ATHIESTS or JOURNALISTS EXPOSING REPUBLICAN CORRUPTION or anyone the Republican Party doesn't like. Hitler and Stalin would be green with envy.

So, what's the liberal response to this?

1. wow that is just sick
I can't believe that people are so brainwashed to think that doing something like this is actually good for America. I'm going to start sending in reports about my republican teachers.

2. Yup-- a sick site, been around for years
Has led to professors receiving thousands of hate-mails and the occasional threats (gotta love cyberspace)

They used to have a list of "bad professors"--that's gone by the wayside....now have a survery of institutions

They used to have a list of "Recommended professors" but that's gone by the wayside...

Some of us in the profession and field would be happy to "earn" a place on the old list. It was funny--because so many professors offered up their names to be added.

This site is part of larger process (FL bill to allow students to sue professors, the David Project) to shut folks up who you disagree with.

There's not defense for this site in any true intellectual sense.

3. I'm tempted to send them a report that there is a business up the
street with a secret room upstairs where I've come to believe they are harboring at least two families of Jews. . . I mean Muslims.
