1. I believe Ridge
I find it hard to believe that even the Neocons could be so low as to use terror alerts for political agendas. But they have surprised me before.

4. You should see the graph of terra lerts vs. polls in 2004
You might think again about it.

And no terra lerts since the election.

call me a cynic

11. Timeline of Terror Alerts
Edited on Thu May-05-05 10:31 PM by Roland99
http://juliusblog.blogspot.com/2004_08_01_juliusblog_archive.html#109156476570482138

Biltud, from Salon.com's TableTalk, posted a few days ago a series of correlations between past terror alerts and political events unfavorable to the Bush administration. I compiled all these correlations and organized them chronologically into a timeline. I also added additional news items and other instances that I found out, detailing the terror alerts over the last few years, and located the original sources for many of these news articles. Soon, Biltud and I started to research together all these occurrences, and more interesting "coincidences" started to appear. We finally built this timeline of terror alerts and how they relate to the news headlines of the days immediately prior to that very alert. I think it's very easy to see a pattern recurring (Text in blue marks the original notes by Biltud. Text and sources in black are my additions):

bah...can't link to the chart. Should be at the link above.

6. I don't believe him. Someday maybe we'll have the evidence to show
what the truth is.

9. They did though
Google for it. I read about it last December and wasn't too surprised. Isn't it ironic how we haven't had a single terror alert since Bush was "re-elected" where before it was becoming a normal thing?

10. 3 and 1/2 years
of the first Bush administration was non stop focus on terror alerts. Remember duct tape and plastic wrap???

And what happened 2 days before the election? A messsage from bin Ladin. How convenient. We haven't heard diddly squat from him since, though. I doubt it is a conincidence.

13. Then how do you explain
Edited on Thu May-05-05 10:31 PM by proud2Blib
the terra alert the DAY AFTER the DNC ended? And the numerous alerts for three months after that right up to the election? And if you still aren't convinced, why no terra alerts since the election?

BTW, welcome to DU :hi: and enjoy your stay, however brief it may be.

2. Jon is amazingly good at (1) making uninteresting people
fun and (2) dealing politely and comfortably with people of all political persuasions, including people who are far to the right of Ridge. Just amazing.

3. Jon made him uncomfortable all right.
Too bad he didn't get really tough, but I am grateful that he jabbed him a few times about homeland security.
