James Dobson, and I feel dirty even typing his name...Fred Phelps are bigger assholes.

Fred Phelps, and Dobson are worse. Lets not forget about Tony Perkins or Tom DeLay either. And then we got Ann Coulter, Rush Limbaugh, and Bill O'Reilly preaching their warped versions of Christianity to us all the time. Falwell certainly rates among the worst, but he does have some competition.

To answer your question, yes, I think Jerry Falwell is an asshole and a total religious zealot to boot.

This reminds me of a funny bumper sticker that I saw one time. It was around the time that Falwell was "calling out" the teletubby Tinky Winky for being a homosexual. The bumper sticker said:

"Jerry Falwell can suck my tinky winky"

I know it's a little crude, but I died laughing! :rofl:

15. It's a friendly rivalry, a big game of oneupyourbuttsmanship

Falwell will say something highly assaholic, the Robertson will try to bottom that, vice versa, etc.

It's like when the Beatles did Rubber Soul, the Beach Boys answered with Pet Sounds, then the Fabs came back with Sgt. Pepper...

So just look for Jerry or Pat to, at some point, claim, "I'm bigger than God," and then the other one will retort with, "Yes but I AM God."
