Dear Editor, As an ex-Christian, I read the story about East Waynesville Baptist Church expelling Democrats from it's congregation with some disgust, and some amusement. I think Mr. Chandler needs to perhaps read the Bible before he presents himself as a pastor. Perhaps he should read Lev 19 : 17-18 and Matthew 7 :12 before he passes judgement on Democrats, or anybody else. It seems to me that Mr. Chandler worships George Bush more than God and Jesus. I don't think I'd treat a dog the way Mr. Chandler treated his Democrat parishioners. And to the other members of the congregation who stood up and applauded, I say to you this: you're action was shameful. Mr. Chandler is helping to make the term Christianity synonymous with ignorance. Like I said before, I'm an ex-Christian and I'm an ex-Christian because I've seen too many pastors like Mr. Chandler who are teaching hate instead of love, tolerance, respect and forgiveness.
I will pray you amend your ways, and separate politics from religion.
