Updated: 7:09 a.m. ET May 7, 2005

BAGHDAD, Iraq - A suicide car bomb exploded in a busy commercial section of central Baghdad on Saturday, killing at least six people and wounding nearly 30, officials said. The U.S. military said the casualties included American civilians.

The powerful blast in Tahrir Square damaged shops and set fire to several cars, said police Maj. Abbas Mohammed Salman. He said six people died.

A police officer at the scene said 17 people were killed and some appeared to be Westerners. But he spoke on condition of anonymity, and his information could not immediately be confirmed.

3. Even The American MSM Is Reporting 270 in the past 9 days.
I can't imagine the fear that pervades that country. Where is the security we promised these people? Where are the restored services. Power production is still well below pre-war levels. We are making enemies not friends with each day we persist in this gross display of imperialism.
