I just don't get it. Ok. They get paid big bucks. But, have they some secret key to a bunker, just in case and don't give a crap about the rest of us. Or, are they all that terrified to stand-up against their superiors?

All of us have had to stand-up to bosses, professors, you name it, at least 1 time in our lifetime.

For the record, the Times of London cannot in any way be considered a tabloid. It is a broadsheet--four times the area of an 8-1/2 by 11 sheet of paper. A tabloid is two 8-1/2 by 11 sheets--contiguous on their long sides--or half of a broadsheet.

Even in the more colloquial sense, the Times wouldn't make tabloid status in anyone's book--

but because time was short, and the House went out of session on Thursday, Conyers didn't want too much time to elapse. The letter was drafted on May 2nd. Here's what John Conyers said in a reply to a post at dKos yesterday:

in this case, time is of the essence (4.00 / 16)

On Thursday, the House went out of session and my colleagues went back to their districts. Most are not scheduled to return until late Tuesday. My assessment that we needed to send the letter to the President and to the media before too much time went by.

It's not too late to call your Congressperson on Monday and suggest they call or contact Mr. Conyers and ask how they can lend support to his letter. Here is a list of the Dems that did not sign:
