Republicans are CULTISTS. They ALWAYS put party above country.
Pass it on. Everyone needs to know this. The GOP is a cult with the mission to destroy the US.

(For evidence, see stories on the fillibuster, the oil-for-food so-called "scandal at the UN," the attack on the judiciary, the tax cuts, the attack on SS, etc., etc., etc., etc., etc.)

3. It just seems that way. They aren't consciously trying to hurt the US.
They actually believe that they are doing what's best for the country, no matter the methods. That's even more frightening in a cult like the wingnuts core.

4. I'm not so sure of that.
I really am not. I think they put the political power of the Republican Party above all other considerations. I see no evidence to the contrary.
