Jesus loved other men. Does that make Him gay?
Edited on Sat May-07-05 10:57 AM by ih8thegop
It seems as if whenever a man gets close with another man, or a woman gets close with another woman, they are often (but not always, as Dubya and Abdullah have demonstrated) perceived as being gay or lesbian. Take SpongeBob, for example.

Well, as a Christian, I believe that Jesus loved all of us, both men and women, more than we can ever imagine. So, since He is so close to us, does that make Him gay? And does that mean any man who loves Him is also gay?

If so, I guess Archbishop Flynn has to start denying Communion to half of his parishoners as well as himself. And I guess the Waynesville Baptist Church has to kick out quite a few more people.

And I guess they all have to ignore one of Jesus's most important teachings:

"I give unto you a new commandment: Love one another as I have loved you." - John 13:34

1. "And does that mean anyone who loves Him is also gay?"
Not the women. :)

2. You can't be talking about Republican Jesus...
Republican Jesus hates gays and doesn't even think about men except to figure out how to steal their resources and smite them. Republican Jesus inseminates all women he sees and will not tolerate abortion or even contraception.

Don't let me hear you talking about Republican Jesus that way again!

3. I'm outraged too !
Republican Jesus is for the death penalty.Considering that he was executed himself,it shows how tolerant he is.

4. I think we are all gay.
and your Bible quote is amusing considering your screen name :D

Actually, I am certain Jesus encountered homosexuals in his travels, yet he never said a word against it. And I imagine more characters in the Bible were gay than the RR would allow...it just wasn't an issue worth mentioning back then. It was common in the society and for the most part, accepted. David and Jonathan, anyone?

Archbishop Flynn's actions mean one thing for sure: moderate and liberal Christians are speaking out for the rights of all people. And it's about time. Let's hope they stay strong.

5. You need to differentiate Jesus "love" from traditional love.
The Fundies say that they "love" everyone. Their definition is twisted and unique, but so is everything they do.

8. If Jesus was here today...
Cons would see him as a long haired hippie freak.

to Cons, his advocacy of peace and universal brotherwood would have them screaming to boycott whatever he was involved in becuase obviously Jesus is on the side of the Terrorists.

Jesus's criticism of Hypocrisy would get him thrown out of Con churches. and attcked in the media.

Cons would take the fact that Jesus hung out with prostitutes, tax collecters and effeminate men as sexually suspect.

And lastly, lets not forget that Jesus was a brown skinned guy from the Middle East. The Shrubbery would toss hi sass in a cell without charges, deny they had him , then say they had him but they were holding him on charges they couldn't specify... and then he would "deported" to a country where they practice Torture.

Gods help Jesus if he came back today. Shrub would crucify his ass.

After al that, Jesus being gay is almost minor...

9. the three kinds of love
philia - "brotherly" love, indicates a fondness for others.
eros - "erotic" love, sexual
agape - "inclusive" or "complete" love, the kind of love God has for all of us.

Why do we have only one word for love?
And what does this little guy represent? :loveya:
