Gas prices are Good for the local economy!!!!
Operative word here is: LOCAL!!

I live in a small town, with a good cross-section of stores, but also a 45 minute drive to a larger city with all KINDS of stores. I check prices, it would be cheaper to buy things in the city, as I used to do. However, NOW, I take the time to figure in the cost of gas, and usually I find that its cheaper buying it here at home, even though the actual item is more expensive.

I guess, in a bass ackward type of way, high gas prices are good for SOME thing!

2. Agreed!
Not good for the WalMarts and other big box retailers. This is one of the many predicted consequences of shrinking energy supplies.
