Your UFO Experience here:
I've never had one, but there's an odd story my mom told me.

she's a born again christian for over 30 years now, but, just before her conversion, she claims she saw a ufo, but didn't tell me until AFTER she had been born again unto the lord. she is not inclined to lie, and her tone when she related the story gave me chills.

we lived in mascoutah, illinois in the late 60's, as rural as you can get, half an hour out of st. louis, mo. way out on a farm, where my folks raised about 200 hogs.

she claims one night she was all alone and was leaving to go somewhere and stepped out the door and saw a huge hovering, oval shaped craft with lights, just above the ground, making no sound, as big as a football field.

she was startled into paralysis, staring at the thing and unable to breath, her heart pounding. she wanted to scream, but couldnt'. suddenly one of the cats shrieked behind her in the yard and she jumped out of her skin and looked over at the cat, and then looked back and the thing was gone.

she still holds to this story, all these years later.

about two or three years ago, i saw a documentery about ufo's in illinois, around mascoutah, millstadt, dupo, cahokia, collinsville, belleville, east st. louis etc., all places where i used to live, and all located near scott airforce base.

weird huh?

1. I believe in UFOs
although I have never seen one. I am one of those who would love to see one and never has.

2. I've been to Roswell a couple of times.
I don't know if it counts, but it's a strange place. A couple of times traveling over wide open spaces I have seen stuff I couldn't identify, but whether they were UFOs or made by us I couldn't tell. What I do know is that the sky is pretty crowded up there with many other things that aren't stars or planets.

4. Interesting
I used to know a UFO investigator who lived in the Cahokia area.

I would believe your mom.

I had some very strange experiences and have seen unidentifiable things in the sky.

5. I seen a few
Either red or orange triangular objects that hover, blink, and become bright or dim. Alien abduction dreams aren't cool but can be weird.

6. In the mid '50s when I was a little Boy Scout
a story was making the rounds on the news that UFO's were spotted in upstate Vermont and New York. About a week later I went on my 1st Boy Scout camping trip at Camp Quinnapoxet in southern New Hampshire. While we were laying on the ground next to our campfire looking up at the dark starry sky, we saw about 6 UFO's streak, then stop, then streak away again. It was very weird, but that's my story, and I'm stickin' to it.

7. I have always hoped to see one
someday. The closest I ever came to thinking I was watching one was when that space junk came down in December 2001. I was out in the country driving home in a dark sky area and man did that sucker light up the sky. Rats was the first thing I thought after I had assured myself that it wasn't a blown up airplane and realized it was not a UFO.

8. We came here to
observe you and experiment with different cultures, animals and evolution

There are no UFO sightings that can't be explained away by our subagents in your government.

Now, to change back from my lizard skin to human skin,
where is that transponder?

9. Lot of good window pane acid going around in Illinois during the late 60's
I had a good friend who had a bad trip and became a jesus freak right before my eyes. I swear I had never seen anything like it before then or since. Last time I seen him (about ten years ago) he was still walking down the street carrying a bible and mumbling shit to himself. True story. I seen a big green fire breathing dragon once myself. But that was about the extent of it.

10. I've seen UFO's twice
One in 1966 and one in 1988. Both times they were lights that changed direction several times in a way no conventional aircraft could. Don't know what they were, I guess that's why they are called UFO's

11. I thought I saw a UFO once
One night a few years ago I was driving along a rural road outside of my eastern North Carolina hometown. I turned a curve and I saw a some flashing lights in a cloud of fog beside the road ahead of me. The lights were hovering about 50 yards (or so) above the ground. Thinking that it was a UFO, I swerved off of the road and my heart was racing in fear. After a couple of minutes, I realized the object wasn't moving and I decided to drive ahead and get a closer look. As I got closer, I realized that the lights were coming from an electrical tower that was masked in the fog. I felt like a total dumbass...

:dunce:

That's the closest thing I've ever seen resembling a UFO, but I would love to see a real one some day.

13. It must have been 1966 or '67
when I was about 4 or five in rural Nebraska, I was standing on the front porch and saw a completly silent bomb- shaped dark grey thing moving overhead. I remember getting very scared and ran into the house saying I had seen a bomb in the sky, and by the time I had adults come look it was gone... I now believe it was some kind of dirigible from SAC at Offut AFB doing training exercises--?

15. when I lived in chicago, on the 24th floor, one day my wife and I
were looking out the big living room windows at some tall buildings, when we saw an orange ribbon in the sky. it looked like a plane trail except it was bright orange, and we got out the binoculars and couldn't see a plane at the front of it. It struck us as unusual-looking, not like anything we were used to seeing. it was too high to be one of those planes that trail a message behind it, and what happened while we were watching it freaked us out.
like I said, it looked like a plane contrail, except that it didn't get longer, it remained the same length as it traveled across the sky, and THEN, it turned at a ninety degree angle. It bent at this angle, and as the ribbon passed through the angle, it maintained a perfectly sharp angle, like a worm crawling through a right angle clear straw.
If I had been alone, I'd have written it off as an illusion, but both my wife and I clearly saw it. We tried to take a picture of it, but it didn't turn out.
My wife is a very straight laced person, and at the time, she was a flight attendant, so she was pretty familiar with what SHOULD be in the air. She was freaked out. SHE suggested we call someone. We kept calling places until someone at the air force gave us a dept. where you are supposed to report UFOS.
but here's where it gets even weirder. The guy refused to take a report. He verified that yes, he did work at the dept. where you are suppposed to report UFOs, but he didn't want to make a report. He listened patiently to what we described, but told us to hang up and go back to enjoying the nice day.
Both my wife and my impression was he KNEW about it already but didn't want to do anything.

16. I never believed in them either
until the night I saw one. My Mom was with me, we were returning home from a family gathering, traveling down a secondary-road in the Carolinas. Up ahead, off to the right, hovering over a field, I saw something with different color lights flashing in odd patterns. As I neared the object, I slowed down the car to get a better look at it. It was very large and oblong in shape. My Mother began to scream at me to floor the accelrator to get away from it, whatever it was. At about the same time, the object also took off very fast. It ascended up so far and so fast that it took my breathe away--far beyond what any conventional aircraft I've ever seen has the capacity to do. The weirdest thing? The object was totally silent. Interesting to note however, that there are several military installations located nearby.

17. The silence is what freaked me out
years ago, when I was driving home about 11:00 pm and saw 3 bright lights just above the tree tops at the edge of our town. They were so bright that as I drove toward them, I couldn't look up without being blinded. At one point I was across the road from them and couldn't hear any noise what so ever. I ran into the house, told my (then) teenagers and we ran outside..the lights were gone. You can bet Mom was called wacky after that! ;-)

I later learned these same 3 lights come by regularly, supposedly training exercises or so I've heard. I've seen them from a distance across the farm fields..but never during the day and I'm never able to make out the type or shape of the plane due to the brightness of the lights.
