Brother Speaks Out For Michael Schiavo

Hannity has conducted a one sided campaign against Michael Schiavo without opposition until tonight. On Friday, 5/6,Hannity joined with the Schindlers to accuse Michael Schiavo of brutal abuse and violating a court order. Scott Schiavo, Michael's brother,decided to set the record straight telling Colmes the family's reason for avoiding the media throughout the recent ordeal leading up to his sister-in-law's death.

"It's always been a family matter trying to keep Terri a normal person not a circus clown."

The Schindlers, on Friday, accused Michael of violating a court order by not telling them where Terri's ashes were buried.According to Scott, the ashes have not been buried at all and Michael has every intention of informing the Schindlers about the location. He added that the Schindlers are guilty of violating a court order by taking videos of Terri and releasing them to the media.



When Colmes asked about the Schindler's motives, Scott Schiavo did not hold back. He told Colmes, "Follow the money trail to the right for lifers" claiming that they are paying the bills for all the Schindlers, including siblings, who have no other source of income.

I wanted to believe the Schindler's were just misguided by their grief and potential loss into aligning themselves with the religious right but it seem they were motivated by greed as much as anything. They actually sold their daughters privacy and dignity to rw political hacks/activists and exposed her to the world at her most vulnerable and helpless...not hard to imagine the seeds of bulimia being planted in that kind of environment, is it?...even her final days and hours were expoited shamelessly by these people claiming such love and concern for their daughter/sister...And they got to posture as the bereaved family with little or no questioning of their motives....how could you possibly question parents/siblings love for their child/sister, right?

Greta also interviewed the Pinellas County Sheriff who hired Michael as a nurse for the county jail. Obviously this was an effort to connect Judge Greer, the Sheriff and Michael Schiavo in some sort of conspiracy. However, the revelation that Michael Schiavo is an RN was quite enlightening since it is never mentioned.

When they started selling merchandise of Mrs. Schavio that was when I knew it was nonsense and bullshit. Why sell video's of your daughter for $100 to rightwing freaks and sell a mailing list to rightwing "pro-life" groups? Also, when they had Randall Terry as their spokesperson.

The RTL crowd is developing stealthy operations. They've figured out pat or fogging answers to tough questions in order to avoid having to face the tough issues, the unintended consequences of allowing them to dictate public policy.

For example, if you ask a strident pro-lifer today if they'd make an exception to their ban on all abortions for women who get impregnated during a rape, they'll say something like "Women who are raped rarely get pregnant", then try to change the subject.

They'll tell you that a fertilized egg is endowed with the same human rights as a child or an adult, but if pressed they will do everything they can to avoid admitting their concept of rights is that they come from an almighty creator.

They're dangerous. They've been trained to give pat answers to salient questions. Perhaps we should compile a list of their pre-framed answers and create the same as a response to theirs?

Containment works for me. Shine a light on their fallacies and keep good humor. Don't let them get away with the deception that what they want is anything other than establishment of their flavor of Christianity as the underpinning of our system of laws.

When they try appeals to scorn (e.g. "you don't have any regard for human life" or "you have a lot to learn" or "your thinking is immature" or "you are hopeless") I laugh at them.

I don't have a problem with people believing what they want to privately, but we cannot allow them to replace our system of consensus and compromise with one of their own doctrine.

He asked who was paying Bob Schindler's bills. He said that the Schindler brother is supposedly a teacher, but isn't working. Hannity enlisted Mark Fuhrman to write a book on the case, but Schiavo's brother said that no one in his family has been contacted by Fuhrman. The book is due out in June. I wonder if he'll even wait for the autopsy results to include in his book.
