Is DU blasting the media with LTTEs about their silence re: British memo?
Everyone should write their own letter, not a cut-and-paste piece of crap. I'm totally psyched! This could be something! Remember how the drumbeats about Trent Lott's racist comments started on the Web weeks before the MSM got into it? This will require a prolonged period of screaming.

Here's some inspiration on dKos:

Downing Street Evidence -- Washinton Post Refuses to Cover Story
by Apian

Tue May 10th, 2005 at 18:17:37 EDT

It's a great day to be alive. Readers have been pressuring the Washington Post to cover the story of the Downing Street evidence, and the paper is refusing. Not because the evidence is unauthenticated, not because it is unnewsworthy. But because it is that explosive and damning. A story too big to cover?

How big a story? It's a veritable news blockade. In spite of the Washington Post's refusal to cover the story, the news is getting through this blockade, and the reaction is a call for impeachment and prosecution for war crimes. These are interesting times to live through.

13. Yes, I just wrote a letter to my congressman.
Here's my letter to may congressman, Ben Chandler

I am disturbed that nothing is being said about the Blair memo that states that "Bush wanted to remove Saddam through military action, justified by the conjunction of terrorism and WMD," weapons of mass destruction.

The memo went on to say that "the intelligence and facts were being fixed around the policy."

If Clinton can be impeached for lying in a civil case, why hasn't anyone showed a bit of courage to call bush on this act of treachery. Over 1,600 of our soldiers have died because of the treasonous acts of Former Governor Bush. As I remember nobody died from Clinton's lie.

I know the Republicans will not say anything because they put bush's political fortunes above the Constitution and lives of the American people.

Please stand up for our soldiers by denouncing Bush and calling for his impeachment for crimes against the American people.

14. Be sure to write your own letter in your own words
It doesn't have to elequent, just you. My newspaper just ran a short editorial stating that they ignore obvious form letters. I think three sentences from the heart is more effective than a form letter.

The memo makes it plain that bush intended to manipulate the intel to justify the bloodbath going on in Iraq.

Here's the first draft of a letter to the editor.

The Blair memo made it very clear that Bush intended to fix the intelligence to justify the war in Iraq. But what does our media report on? They busied themselves with run away brides, Michael Jackson, and senseless babble about anything other than the act of treachery by Bush against the people of the US.

Other than a few reporters, this issue has either been ignored or spiked by the corporate heads of the media conglomerates. A few years ago they worked themselves into a lather over an affair by Bill Clinton. It was a personal failure that hurt his family. It did not send over 1,600 US soldiers to their death. Nor did it lead to the maiming of over 10,000 US soldiers.

For you that do not care about human life, this war has cost taxpayers over $300 Billion, and has caused our trading partners to reassess their relationship with the US. In some cases they have decided to cut deals with our competitors instead of us. So you don't have to care about our soldiers to be disturbed about this war and how Bush manipulated us. It is costing you money.
