The old style American Dream is fading fast for most of us. When I

look at the emergence of global competitors such as India, China,Brazil, Russia it seems even the American Dream has been outsourced.The younger generations in these countries show a faith in science and technology and education that our own children are being denied because of our culture's denigration of these cornerstones of our own Western tradition.

While we condemn what Bush has done to our economy in the short term, what he has done to the dreams of our children may be more incalculable.I cannot forgive him for that.

On Edit: The steady destruction of community spirit, that we are all our brother's keepers,is another crime that will come to haunt us in the years ahead as our children's dreams are shattered by the recklessness of profligate spending on wars and warmaking machinery,the total dissolution of our corporate empires ( United Airlines, GM,Ford,Delphi,Enron, Tyco) and the ascendancy of unreason aided and abtted by religious zealotry.

I just cannot fathom how we allowed this to happen, when we as a nation decided to roll over and play dead, and dump all of this shit on our kids and grandkids. It is a tragedy we're just beginning to feel, and it will get much, much worse before it gets better...there simply is no money left, yet BushCo is still spending like a drunken sailor.

America is a disgraced shell of its former self.
