1. The memo. Another few days, and it will officially be "old news".

7. More right than I know! Look at the WH press briefing site:
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/briefings/

There's a press briefing going on RIGHT NOW, and it's the first one since the Memo story broke overseas! The rest have all been "gaggles" and such en route to Georgia, or Russia, etc.

Now that they're back in the States, this happens RIGHT BEFORE the press briefing.

And yesterday, RIGHT BEFORE the evening news, details of a possible assassination attempt are released (well after it happened).

Like I said, another few days and it will be "old news".

6. Do you suppose that this was actually a small plane
that came into restricted airspace and the federal marshals wwere following orders and erring on the side of caution? Just a thought. Sort of a condescending attitude to call the people "sheeple" by the way.

10. No.

I "suppose" it was media manipulation by the BFEE.
All day long, terra-terra-terra, Tommy Timbertoes says it wasn't one big happy family at HS, "Our Glorius Fuhrer" narrowly escaping death by a dud "grenade" etc., then THIS.

Condescending? Oh, you're TOO kind. "Condescending" is too NICE a term for how I feel about the stupid oblivio-trons that populate this "frooted plane"...

If you're not perpetually pissed-off, then you're not paying attention, and yes, my dear Bluzmann, that includes YOU.

There's no proof the grenade was intended for Bush--it landed 100 feet away. (And someone suspecting it was an explosive device PICKED IT UP, and AFTER everyone left? Not bloody likely.) Anyone aiming at the stage would have either stood closer used some kind of launcher.

Can we use it or have you trademarked it already. If so, will you grant permission for use by the Anarchy1999 family?

Every Congressman in DC will be on cable news today reminiscing about the Reagan plane incident, tellin us how skeered they were, what a GREAT job the government did, ad nauseam.

8. absolutely fucking sickening...
that this non-event has been covered in this detail for this long. How many times can they show that footage of the press corps running down PA Avenue? The CONSTANT speculation of what would happen if terrorists attacked DC for real, (with everthing excluding radioactive zombie ninjas with toxic flattulance...).

Fucking sickening.

I hate these people.

13. But we can't talk
about corporate malfeasance, nor smoking gun memos, nor outing CIA operatives, nor stolen elections, nor anything that matters. Distract the masses. Feed them "reality" TV and steal them blind.

Remember how Marx thought religion was the opiate of the masses? Well, guess what? We've got that times a gazillion! We've got Religion and TV and Radio 24x7 and a completely uninformed, uncaring, zombie populace.

And, I think sheeple is a wonderful description.

16. Quick propaganda test:
Imperfect, but says something...

Compare CNN.com's treatment of a story with NYTimes.com. If a story is #1 on CNN -- is The Big Story -- but isn't even one of the five or so headlines on NYTimes, it's a PROPAGANDISTIC SMOKESCREEN.

Not to say that NYTimes always covers the real stories, either...

23. Sure it happened!
But planes drifting into protected airspace happens many times a year, apparently: "Reagan National Airport has been closed to general aviation since the Sept. 11 attacks. In the 3 1/2 years since then, hundreds of small planes have flown within the restricted airspace around the capital — a 15 3/4-mile radius around the Washington Monument."

Just THIS time they freak out about it.

26. That this is a DISTRACTION
The British memo would have come up at a press conference today. Instead, the subject du jour was the Cessna: a NONstory. Nothing happened.

Argh. I'm so sick of the orchestrated news.

Anti-U.S. Riot Turns Deadly in Afghanistan
By MUSADEQ SADEQ Associated Press Writer

http://www.guardian.co.uk/worldlatest/story/0,1280,-4999059,00.html

~snips~

JALALABAD, Afghanistan (AP) - Shouting ``Death to America!'' more than 1,000 demonstrators rioted and threw stones at a U.S. military convoy Wednesday, as protests spread to four Afghan provinces over a report that interrogators desecrated Islam's holy book at the U.S. prison at Guantanamo Bay.

Police fired on the protesters, many of them students, trying to stifle the biggest display of anti-American anger since the ouster of the ruling Taliban militia 3 years ago. There were no reports of American casualties, but the violence left four dead and 71 injured in Jalalabad, a city 80 miles east of the capital, Kabul.

President Hamid Karzai, who travels to Washington this month for talks with President Bush, played down the violence. ``It is not the anti-American sentiment, it is a protest over news of the desecration of the holy Quran,'' Karzai told reporters after talks with NATO officials in Brussels, Belgium. ``Afghanistan is now a democratic country, people can come out and protest and demonstrate and express themselves,'' Karzai said. ``It also shows that Afghanistan's institutions, the police, the army, are not yet ready to handle protests and demonstrations.''

"An Afghan opposition leader claimed the demonstration reflected frustration at the role of the United States and Karzai's plans for military ties, which could include long-term U.S. bases."
