Concepts the U.S. finds useful in launching resource wars and wars
for domination.

The most important concept that U.S. imperialism has found is the idea of Vital Interests. All this says is that the U.S. wants some of the resources the other country might have and, if they do not agree to part with that resource on terms favorable to the U.S. they will be subjected to threats, their elected or unelected governments would be toppled, to be replaced by compliant dictators. Similar use is made of passage through waters like the Suez canal or the Panama canal. In all cases, the net impact is the denial of sovereignty to the peoples who are being threatened. In essence, U.S. trumps national sovereignty.

The second concept is that of a premptive war. This concept used to be called Wars of Aggression but that doesn't sit well with the P.R. firms doing business with our rulers. They have thus fallen upon this gem:a preemptive war for regime change. That means you are not allowed to have defensive or offesnsive weaponry of any kind. Those weapons are the exclusive prerogative of the U.S. to own and use. If any nation chooses to develop and use them as deterrents they are forbidden to do so.That is what our mighty President says. That you may not even own such weapons is beside the point. If we don't like you or the way you part your hair, you cannot own any weapons that can stop us from invading you.So, call your FTD dealer and ask them to get you some flowers that you can shower on our soldiers when they come for you and your momma.

The third concept is that the U.S. makes laws for everyone in the world. If you don't like that, tough shit.We will send John Bolton to read you the riot act at the UN.

When all else fails, we will tell you what religion you may follow or whether or not your women can have abortions or whether you should have daylight savings time like we do in the U.S.of A.

Just obey what we tell you to do and there will be no problems.Sort of like our Southern Sheriffs used to do down south in the bad old days.

And one last thing. We like to torture those who are lucky enough to be our prisoners instead of being blown away. And only we are allowed to torture you.You cannot torture us.The Geneva Convention says so.

When we make war for any reason, by definition, it cannot be an aggressive war because we are the ones bringing Democracy and Freedom and Christianity and Salvation to you.

Now let us pray.

3. I am pretty sure it is close in intent if not in a literal sense. May be
in my previous incarnation I used to work for Cheney or Rumsfeld. Those karmic stains linger on you for several lifetimes.Even the mighty cleaner up in the sky is unable to clean those stains.

2. “What a country calls its vital economic interests
are not the things which enable its citizens to live, but the things which enable it to make war. Gasoline is much more likely than wheat to be a cause of international conflict.” - Simone Weil (1949)

5. bush's US Energy Policy says we will use military force to protect VITAL
INTERESTS.

Now just what do ya think VITAL INTERESTS means, when it's used in the US ENERGY POLICY...

And how come so many Americans are so totally ignorant as to believe "vital interests" means the personal safety and well-being of Americans?

Why in general are so many Americans so ignorant of everything?

*sigh*

6. Self inflicted ignorance is the hardest to cure;when it is accompanied
by arrogance, it is a terminal illness.
