Conspiracy Theory--of the "Papal" Variety

I'm passing out tinfoil hats this morning. Let me fly it by you....

When I heard just a few minutes ago that an American Cardinal has been appointed by Herr Pope to take over his previous position in the Vatican, some thoughts that were rummaging around in my mind came front and center again.

It became no secret during the funeral of John Paul that Ratzinger was the guy who was behind the various Cardinals/Archbishops, etc. in St. Louis and Colorado and the like who threatened everything from not giving Kerry communion if he visited to not giving communion to those who supported him. (In fact, when this started breaking during the campaign, John Paul tried to issue some statements to counteract these moves). Ratzinger had used his position in the Vatican (can't remember the official title)as the interpreter or enforcer of the faith.

Now......ironically a few months AFTER the Bush victory, John Paul falls ill, dies and Ratz is chosen with very little effort. And now an American Cardinal is in the very powerful position Ratz vacated (i.e, throwing elections).

It wouldn't be all that hard to help an old Pope to his death AND Ratz didn't exactly have eternity to get his pay off since he's got one foot in the grave himself. Bottom line: is this another political payoff from the Bush/Republican unholy, organized crime cartel?? It fits the pattern of "coincidental" that has been the hallmark of this regime from the get go.

Remember Poppy gave Cardinal Marcinkus immunity from prosecution over the Banco Ambrosiano heist ($500million+ bankruptcy) and the murder of Roberto Calvi because he said "all the evidence pointed to Calvi suiciding himself in 1982".............
