Rita COSBY Buh-bye to Faux. Shrub Takes 3Mos to Read Book. More
Did Jerry RIVERA get Rita tossed? When he joined Faux and made the rounds of all the Faux circuses, kissing the Faux anchors' butts, begging to be accepted by them, O'LOOFAH asked him, "What to you bring to Faux that we don't already have?"

It was actually a good question since COSBY was gangbusters in handling what might be Jerry's niche---but doing it more efficiently and accurately----interviewing Bad Boys or their families or their neighbors, anybody CLOSE to the Bad Boys. She was pen-pals with McVEIGH and David BERKOWITZ, telephone-interviewed MILOSEVIC, clearly wanted to "do" PETERSON and CONDIT if she could have gotten to them, walked the trash dump where the spouse-murdered wife was, and much more. And she did it by showing SYMPATHY for the Bad Boys, preying on their "good" side, plowing the vein of RELIGIOUS COMPASSION.

Many times Rita and Jerry were covering the same stories, but Rita always edged him out in getting exclusives with WHOMEVER, neighbors, whomever. One time, the strain was clearly showing on Jerry. The two of them were promo-ing their back-to-back shows on an earlier show. The host asked her first, and she had the edge. Jerry was clearly pissed and scowled, staring straight ahead. The tension was thick. Rita actually reached over and touched Jerry's knee with her trademark "compassion".

Will she come into the LIGHT? Red Rover, Red Rover, Let---RITA!---come over! I'd scrimp to buy her tell-all on Faux.

NEW YORK -- Fox News Channel will not renew a contract with weekend host Rita Cosby, as the two sides couldn't come to an agreement on an extension, the network said.

Cosby hosted "The Big Story Weekend Edition With Rita Cosby" at 9 p.m. Saturday. On Sunday at 6 p.m. she hosted "Fox News Live With Rita Cosby."

Cosby will leave the network immediately. No replacement host has been appointed, nor has a decision been made on the future of the shows, Fox News said.

PRESIDENT'S PICK
WE know it's a big book and he has a lot on his plate, but even so, it seems to be taking President Bush an awfully long time to get through Tom Wolfe's latest opus, "I Am Charlotte Simmons." In a photo of the prez taken Wednesday during the "plane panic," he was clearly clutching a copy of the 688-page novel, which contains quite a bit of graphic sexual material and loads of filthy language. Back in February, Bush first revealed he was reading the book. Wolfe (above) is traveling in South America and could not be reached.

THE Drudge Report reports Justice Sandra Day O'Connor will leave the Supreme Court. As always, he's right on. I know because I reported that months ago . .
