Will justice be done?
Reading about Friedman and Podhoretz set me thinking: will the cheerleaders for the Iraq War, corporate profiteers, right-wing hate radio hosts and other vermin ever face punishment for their crimes? Or will they, like Ollie North and Kissinger, come back as 'experts' and 'patriots', their sordid pasts hidden from the public and lecture everyone on how America-hating liberals caused us to lose the Iraq War?

There will be no justice for these vermin, they will hide under their rocks and in the shadows until things calm down, just like North and Kissinger did.

Then they will return as experts, mainly because of the short attention span of the American public.

My personal preference is that what happened to Benito Mussolini and his mistress happens to them, but it won't.

2. No
I feel fully confidant that America, my country, will do nothing to bring the war criminals to justice.

Oh, they'll be plenty of outrage...there already is...and people will shake a finger or two while delivering flowery speeches with touching, patriotic words about democracy and they'll all exclaim, "shame!shame!" and "never again!" ...but justice? Not gonna happen.

America doesn't have it in her to bring down an entire cabinet of war criminals, war profiteers ,and traitors. The big lie will be chosen over justice...the big lie is easier to live with...the big lie allows people to go about their business...the big lie keeps the illusion going...it allows history books to call facts debatable and open to interpretation...

Do I sound harsh? Maybe...but.. where are the majority of Iran-Contra criminals today? Oh yeah...they are today's Bush Cabal.
