DON'T "support the troops" any more. We're in dire straits as it is.

So bush, cheney & the rightwingnuts always accuse us of GUTTING THE MILITARY. Well THAT'S just another total MYTH.

Pentagon Proposes Shutting Walter Reed

The same Walter Reed hospital that is OVERFLOWING right now with US soldiers who have been RIPPED BLOODY APART in 2 ongoing WARS that BUSH CHOSE to wage??? THAT Walter Reed???

Among 180 "other facilities".

33 major bases. Hey we don't need bases; our soldiers are never here anymore anyways. And they're not gonna be any time soon if bush gets his choice to wage more invasions. And of course F*CK soldiers' families.

Closing facilities. While waging TWO WARS.

Such facilities as OUR HOMES. We're not short enough as it is??? 3-4 year wait-list for Ft. Hood isn't enough??? Maybe bush will hand out family-size cardboard boxes to soldiers in lieu.

Such facilities as our local training areas. Well hey, not like we see our spouses for years at a time now anyways, what's seeing even less of them because they need to go further and stay longer for training. No biggie.

That's all bad enough. BUT CLOSING MILITARY HOSPITALS??? WHILE MAKING MORE BLOWN-APART, TORN-APART SOLDIERS???

So bushCartel can save $49 billion over the next 20 years. Never mind that bush's WARS OF CHOICE have cost us over $300 billion -THREE HUNDRED BLOODY HUNDRED BILLION- in the past TWO YEARS.

NICKLE AND DIME the troops to death; like bush's wars of choice aren't killing them fast enough.

F*ck you very much, bush.

3. 20,000 extra soldiers coming to Ft. Carson
because of some realignment or something. BUT the waiting list for family housing is already months long... 6 months when my husband got here. Where are they going to put everybody?

(I believe the number is 20,000 -- I can't seem to remember sh*t this morning)

No one should join, not your son, not your daugher, nor your cousin, nephew, niece, aunt, uncle, neighbor, enemy. No one should join now. No one. Let them fight their own damn war, we will not go.

20. No - I disagree. Anybody who supports this war, voted for bush
Should be sent over there to replace a troop w/ their fat, stupid ass.

I don't care about a "United America" anymore.

Like hell am I going to find "common ground" w/ some asshole that supports Bush and his wars. Like hell am I going to find "common ground" w/ some so called 'Christian' who bitches about Terri and then rolls around w/ a "Support the Troops" ribbon.

Round those fuckers up and send them to fight if they think it's so great. Get them out of my face.

10. While at the time we are building how many new bases in Iraq?
Of course, soldiers will no longer be able to live with their families but their leaders want to foster family values.

15 of 19 9/11 hijackers were Saudis. Osama is Saudi, while Bush says they are our "allies". They are using money from oil and then support terrorism though charities. I am not saying we had to invade Saudi arabia, but we should stop buying their oil. Without oil money they'll starve! :kick:

17. Hey Johny - there's a start - quit buying their oil.
Not So Curious George wants to be remembered like Reagan has been (I mean the reagan memories without commentary on Central America). To be like Reagan he would spend the terrorists out of existence like Reagan did to Russia by superfunding the US military machine.

bush could have done that by curbing our oil consumption - through whatever means necessary (e.g., higher CAFE standards, spending on renewable resources, etc.). Instead, he said let's give breaks to the oil industry to produce more oil and wants to drill for more oil domestically. And all the while, Al Qaeda gets stronger and bigger - the stupid fuck.

And BTW, Welcome to DU.

www.missionnotaccomplished.us - Be it MNA Day 3 or 8 or 15 or .... the day will come when 10s of millions of Americans and others stop their typical activities for 24 hours and urge 10 times that many to join should another MNA Day be required. On that glorious day America will have begun truly to be "America," again.

Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. I wonder how the Navy feels about that one. It'll now be a DoD hospital with the Army's name.

Seriously, I think this just might be the over-reach that is needed to wake vast amounts of people the f*ck up.

Closing down military hospitals in a time of war while giving tax cuts to rich chickenhawks and their future generations of chickenhawks will make people very, very angry.

They really do seem to be pushing the envelope of what people will take.
Much like that other King George.

23. I wonder whatever became of a certain military hospital in Germany whose
"claim to fame" was that its staff ended up developing quite the body of expertise on released hostages from 1981 to at least 1991 if you knew what I meant. I wondered if that one or the Wiesbaden hospital closed as well.
