Just so you know...Waynesville Mountaineer finally prints story
Edited on Fri May-13-05 04:27 PM by libnnc
on East Waynesville Baptist. Note, I think they've plagarized heavily, but what else is new...they do that a lot.

here's the link to their website
www.themountaineer.com

one of the best letters:
Where was The Mountaineer?

To the editor:

Your newspaper completely missed the boat. Thursday night WLOS-TV ran a brief news item about the East Waynesville Baptist Church debacle. Anticipating the thorough coverage the Mountaineer would be certain to provide was a wasted exercise.

You didn’t print a single word about a fiasco that has been covered at least twice by the Asheville Citizen and by television daily. This newspaper usually drools over the opportunity of inciting controversy. Are some EWBC members on your staff?

James Galloway Waynesville

and check out the Editor's note...sorry sacks of crap they are:

Editor’s note: I wish a church member was on our staff because then maybe we would have heard about the incident sooner.

4. considering that the main editorial page writer
spends most of her column space opining about her kids and her husband...the real question the folks at the Mountaineer should ask themselves is--Why did these congregants go to WLOS tv and not the newspaper? Could it be because everyone in Haywood County knows that the paper is nothing but garbage to begin with?

They're a joke. And they know it.

10. Interesting: Church's tax-exempt status discussed...
"If the IRS were to revoke the church’s tax exempt status, the county would be compelled to levy property taxes."

Something isn't right...
