The * misadministration is so unbelievably
short sighted and vindictive.

His goon boy, Mr. "lighter and more agile" military, Rummy (screw the body armor and make 'em lighter) has brilliantly been inspired to cut more bases in New England than anywhere else. "Screw those blue states."

Though we are the most populated and if attacked the most volatile. Perhaps Jesus forgives us for being thoughtful and intellectual. It's wayyyy beyond the neocons to be so understanding.

Sorry I just think this is petty and will hurt a lot of folks and communities. God knows the religious right couldn't hold Halliburton accountable for their gross malfaesance ever.

They'll just screw us citizens instead.

1. frankly, they can close them all, for all I care, as long as they DECREASE
the military budget, which is wayyyyyyyyyy to high. :grr:

2. I'm a total pacifist and wish that we would only
stop pissing off the global community through extreme short sightedness. Yet when there cost reduction is so politically pointed, I think it's total bull. IMHO

4. yeah, you're right...
it's BS.

I just couldn't resist the suggestion to disband the military. :-)

3. No amount of manipulation
can achieve a good result atop a false foundation.

They can try to massage this 'til doomsday (and they probably will), but this house of cards is coming down.

6. Actually, base closing can be good for the economy
Military pay is very low which depresses the economy. Plus, having military bases attracts the nuclear bombs.

Perhaps Rummy is doing us all a favor (now, remember when I say this that I live in a red state where you can't walk two feet without running into a base) by making all those Republicans in all those red states targets of attack. Perhaps this is the Rapture that so many of the citizens in those states are waiting for--the Rapture of a nanosecond of illumination as they are vaporized by the bomb.

Hmmmm... kinda makes you think.

8. here's another upside...
The first American Revolution started in New England. The second one will, too. Given the new regulations regarding civil dissent, perhaps it's better to have those bases far, far away.

Sorry. I know this doesn't help when people will be hurting due to these closures, and it doesn't erase the unfairness of it. But there might be a possible bright spot to it far down the road.

10. Crime rate is fixing to skyrocket from desperation all around...
Plus---

I heard the news today, oh boy: 50,000 felons to be released from Texas prisons in cost cutting move. Sheer genius.
