Is Donald Rumsfeld sexy?
Couldn't resist... 50-something responses to the question "Is Condoleezza Rice sexy?" in just over an hour. Just wanted to see what the reaction would be if the question were applied to a male. (And wondering how a Cabinet member's sexiness is relevant when we're getting screwed by all of them.)

1. I don't know about sexy
but I will admit I kind of enjoy watching him. He's entertaining. I liked the book that made his press-conference remarks into blank verse. I just wish he weren't in charge of anything, you know, important.

9. D.H. Rumsfeld is the Existential Poet of our time
Pieces of Intelligence : The Existential Poetry of Donald H. Rumsfeld
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0743255976/qid=1116196959/sr=8-1/ref=pd_csp_1/104-6424535-4495136?v=glance&s=books&n=507846

****

from Amazon.com:

Book Description
Until now, the poetry of Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld has been hidden, "embedded" within comments made at press briefings and in interviews. His preferred medium is the spoken word, and his audience has been limited to hard-bitten reporters and hard-core watchers of C-SPAN.

Just as The Iliad and The Odyssey were spoken aloud by many bards, in many variations, before Homer captured them on paper, the Rumsfeld improvisations have finally met up with their perfect editor/enabler. Hart Seely, coeditor of O Holy Cow! The Selected Verse of Phil Rizzuto, uncovers the gems hidden within hundreds of hours of Rumsfeld commentary, in the form of Zen verse, haiku, sonnets, lyric poetry, and free verse. In addition, Seely's sharp sleuthing has uncovered two thematic collections: Rumsfeld's Songs of Myself, and Nine Poems on the Media.

The result is a hilarious and irreverently revealing book both by and about one of the world's most powerful men.

****

As a long time student of philosophy who specialized in epistemology during my acedemic years, Rumsfeld's piece "The Unknown" was particularly meaningful.

The Unknown

As we know,
There are known knowns.
There are things we know we know.
We also know
There are known unknowns.
That is to say
We know there are some things
We do not know.
But there are also unknown unknowns,
The ones we don't know we don't know.

2. There goes my dinner
At the mere thought of Rumsfield having any sex appeal. I think I'd rather fondle a horse.

8. Who cares?!
I'm sure this was meant to be a funny, tongue-in-cheek topic, but who cares if Rummy is sexy?

I'm more concerned about his failed policies at the Pentagon, and how he has failed miserably at the jobs in Afghanistan and Iraq.

16. I posted this in reaction to the "Is Condoleezza Rice sexy?" thread.
Does it matter whether she is sexy or not? Who cares if any of them is sexy or not... as I said earlier... they are all screwing us.

20. Totally agree.
Their level of 'sexiness' should not even be what we are focusing on. The damage they are doing to our country should be the focus!

14. Donald Rumsfeld couldn't get a date with a vibrating mule ...
if he was waving a g-note around at a vibrating mule whorehouse at five minutes to closing time on a slow slow night in a slow month, bellowing in yearning for a few moments of bliss with a vibrating mule.

Any old vibrating mule!

You know how he uses hand gestures... specifically, waving his hand in the air? From now on, whenever I see him on TV squinting & waving his hand in the air, I will have the image of him waving a g-note around at a vibrating mule whorehouse at five minutes to closing time on a slow slow night in a slow month, bellowing in yearning for a few moments of bliss with a vibrating mule. (If Gannon gets a day pass, maybe he'll have some luck.)

21. I guess like Strangelove.
If you remember the movie, they calculated that repopulation would require something like a 5:1 F:M ratio. So I guess Rummy's gonna get his share of groupies.

27. How desperate would a woman have to be to find Rumsfeld sexy?
I don't know. To quote that immortal line from Bye-Bye Birdie, "Man, I hope I never get THAT tense."

Maybe if you're surrounded by brainless freepers with bad hygiene and mismatched clothes, Rummy looks good, but otherwise--no way.

... and I would chew off a limb if it meant avoiding a meeting with Rumsfeld. Seriously! I could only imagine how awful the competition must look, if HE starts to appear like a reasonable choice.

33. Actually Rumsfeld was quite the piece of eye-candy in his college days...
I saw a pic posted of him once on DU from his college days and I have to admit...the guy was pretty hot.

But, even if he were still "hot" so to speak, he'd still be an ugly, ugly person because he has a lump of coal for a soul.
