WOW! I've changed my mind from Clark back to Dean!
after readng how Clark is a Warmonger in disguise who cries out women for help, I'd rather hold my nose and vote for the "Republican who calls himself a Democrat, but can at least get elected, unlike Kucinich, or so I'm told", Howard Dean.

1. Could someone please tell me what the hell is going on with Clinton?
A couple of months ago, Bill Clinton was very complimentary toward my guy, Howard Dean, saying he would make the best president. A few days ago, he seemed to anoint Wesley Clark, what with many of Clinton's team helping Clark. So now he's out there floating this idea that Hillary might run. What the hell is he doing and why is he fucking with the other candidates. Does Clinton think all of the others are mere pawns for himself and Hillary? Is everybody ultimately supposed to just roll over should Hillary decide to run? He is effectively trying to neuter frontrunning Dean, IMHO, and he is using Clark a some sort of pawn for Hillary, unless of course Clark is in on it.
Look, I'm very tired of Clinton using the Democratic Party as his own personal funhouse. When are we going to get it? For Clinton, it's not about the party; it's ALL about Bill Clinton. When are we going to wake up and get rid of this guy?

7. To hell with the Repukes,...just don't screw Dean
I could care less what Clinton does to the repukes, but his maneuvering appears to be designed to fuck over frontrunning Dean

4. You are listening to too much Faux
Clinton is going to praise all candidates until the primaries - then he'll praise the nominee.

6. As far as everyone else is concerned
As far as everyone else goes: I'll wait and see until crunch time. If Hilary runs for President, then she gets my vote no matter what.

13. Clinton is jealous of Dean
Although Clinton is a polished politician, he can't bear the thought that a new presence in the party hierarchy could upstage him. This is very serious- The Clintons are a problem---a real obstruction within the party --preventing it from moving forward, and gaining new strength, vigor and renewed hope.

Ultimately, the Clintons always come first for the Clintons.

22. the sad irony
is they are both closer to one and the same than you have been led to believe. Fool. And so long as they can fool you -the worse off it will be for you. I can't make you wake up - but I can hope there will be the day that you will.

Sooner or later it comes to us all, until then we suffer fools.

26. Instead of calling me a fool
Why not present some evidence and argumentation to convince me that you're right and back up your case? That might actually be productive, or you could continue with your invective.

28. I think the most damaging thing
about them right now is how polarizing they are. I think if Hillary were to run right now it would be a disaster.

I think Bill would best help our cause if he talked issues and avoided hints and other talk that incites wild speculation. Praise all candidates evenly as he did in Iowa and let we the people pick our own candidate.

12. I wasn't that enthusiastic about Clark before . . .
and after reading this article I like him a lot LOT less. Just another waffler; he can't seem to take a firm definite stand on anything and seems amateurish and underinformed about most of the issues. Not very inspiring and not presidential at all.

25. Except
when you bully boys are storming a thread. That is, when you are not whining about somebody who may not be rhapsodizing breathlessly over the general. That is viewed as "bashing".

The trashing of Eloriel's thread last night was disgusting---as if she should be punished for the crime of insubordination for asking a question.

27. There You Go Again...
"bully boys"

your language is down right fascistic in the sense you use language to intimidate others...

It reminds of the line from the Untouchables where Elliot Ness played by Kevin Costner says "we have become what we abhor." or something like that...

I try to refraim from ad hominem attacks and when I lapse I try to apologize...

15. Dean's view of Clark's entry
What, by the way, does Dean have to say about Clark?

“It’s nice to have a four-star general validating my position on the (Iraq) war, as opposed to these other guys.”

"Granite Status: Trips to Iowa and Florida first", John Di Staso, political reporter Manchester Union (Do a find on "DEAN ON THE DEFENSE". quote is at bottom of this section)
http://www.theunionleader.com/granite_show.html?article=26415

That's exactly how I feel about Clark's entry affecting Dean. It affirms that Dean, who took the anti-war stand when polls showed that 70% of the American public supported the war was a politically courageous move, but a move that Clark didn't make at the same time. Dean showed good judgment then when all the so called experts poo-pooed Dean's anti-Iraq-war stance.

21. but now Clark is saying he "probably" would have voted for
the Iraq resolution. This statement, imo, just made the path the nomination easier for Dean.

20. Me either
Looked pretty good to me. The way I read the article, and I may be wrong, he called her over there because he was being faced with questions and she had other reporters in the back of the plane with her. Looks like he wanted EVERYONE to hear him so he could stifle the bullshit.

Edited on Fri Sep-19-03 08:43 AM by bearfartinthewoods
you'd still be supporting him?

i just deleted what i'd rather say.

instead may i say men can ask women for help.

it's OK, really. if the article used the phrase 'cried out' and that has effected your thinking, you need to work on your media objectivity. they could have used the word asked or called but they chose cried out.

i wonder why?

30. So you're saying
he's a warmonger who wants to cut the pentagon's budget and use the pentagon's money to fund universal healthcare? If that's the case I wish he was ten times as much a "warmonger."
