I saw a headline today about bush attending a service for the fallen
(it was in the Ft. Worth Star-Telegram).

I thought it was going to be about him attending a service for the fallen soldiers in Iraq. I thought "Hell, it's about TIME."

But it wasn't. It was a service for fallen police officers.

It's nice to see him at least honoring someone, I thought. And fallen police officers certainly deserve acknowledgement. Then I read that every president has done this since Kennedy.

Oh. Um, I'm sure it doesn't take away from it, but this was something he was simply expected to attend, like eight presidents before him.

So, move along people, still no formal acknowledgement of the ultimate sacrifice they made for no WMDs and no threat to the US.

Still, I wonder why he can't acknowledge those coffins coming home.

3. I know you meant that tongue in cheek
but this is a good place to say I love America with all my heart and soul. I weep for it. We can be so much better than this bullshit. Sending troops to die for a lie??? That's a punishable offense.

I love America. I want to save it from those who would see it perish. America's worst enemies are in its whitest house.

8. I know, Bouncy. That's what makes this mess all the more painful
You love America so much it hurts. When she does wrong, it's like someone ripping your flesh a part.

It's a wound that goes to the bone.

1. He doesn't want to confront family members
(or he doesn't want them to confront him. Might cause an 'incident').

2. He has met with a few in private.
And from the reports that were given, they didn't go as well as he hoped. I guess they tried to pre-screen some REALLY supportive family members and they just couldn't pre-screen enough to find one that fit into the category of "don't care that my child died for your nasty war."

So they stopped trying.

10. Was channel surfing today and
happened onto that event. He was so insincere I was embarrassed for the people that lost a member of their family. Then after speaking he went to the gated line and hugged and kissed about all of them with this Oh so sad and understanding look on his face. People still go for his bs. I believe it was at the WH. Just think, he could once a year do a WH lawn memorial for the fallen in Iraq and Afghanistan. Ah, would be admitting people died for His cause.
