Fund drive for ONE billboard re: Downing Street Memo ??????
Maybe I'm a dreamer but hey, we have (theoretically) over 60,000 members. Short of renting a hot air balloon or paying a famous celebrity to rant about this, I see ONE decent billboard as getting some serious attention. AT least local news coverage, then probably (I think) going to national news coverage. I have no idea how much they cost, but maybe one decent billboard for one month might kick start this. What do ya think ??? You advertising and media types please chime in.

9. a traveling billboard would be the way to reach the most people
put it on the back of a tractor trailer and parade it across the states so that everyone knows just who sold them out. :grr:

37. if you rent a 20' flatbed
Like the kind that deliver Bobcats® and the like, you'd be looking at 200 or 300 a day, I would imagine, however that rate could probably include a driver if you find someone who supports our cause who also has a truck for hire. ;-)

At that point, a billboard could be fabricated and fastened to the truck.

This would create a billboard which would be owned by the group (and then be reused).

50. Perhaps this would result in poor gestures
towards the driver? There are some freakin' kooky sheeples out there... I think a traditional billboard may have a more far reaching effect.

Just my 2c.

5. Really depends on where.
Peacies around Eau Claire got one for about $500 for a month at about the time the war broke out.

And I would contribute $.

I think the billboard should refer people to a website or blog iwth more information.

30. Just wondering? Why do we have to pay
for someone elses billboard space? Why not do it like we do yard signs? Find Democrats who would be willing to let us put these signs up in their fields along highways, etc. Then get the required materials, Democrat artists and go to work. Build our own!

Proposed Billboard: BUSH LIED TO START THE WAR: New Proof

The idea is to put up billboards directing people to the website of our choice, to feed them information. The lead story this month would be the Downing St. Memo, next month something else.

Maybe also an information campaign on Gannon/Guckert:

WHO'S BEEN SLEEPING AT THE WHITE HOUSE?
See www.placeholder. com

etc.

In each case we would coordinate this with a host website we'd like the general public to visit (e.g. Buzzflash), so the curious surfer would be dipped into a whole bunch of interesting tidbits.

Somewhere along interstates to major airports or downtown areas (Atlanta, Orlando, DFW, Houston, LA, Denver, St. Louis, Tulsa, Oklahoma City, Birmingham, Charlotte, etc.)

Near mega-churches.

46. I like your idea,...but, why can't we do a drive to disseminate on broader
scales. Why not do a drive to spread this info broadly. I'd much rather see money spent on local artists/businesses to create impactful information-distribution than contribute to a super-costly billboard, here and there, which fails to reach the masses.

Just sharing my thoughts.
