Anti-war, educational flyer
Edited on Tue May-17-05 02:50 PM by TexasLawyer
Many of us want a quick end to the war in Iraq, and are deeply concerned about the frightening possibility that the US will be joining Israel in bombing Iran (the so-called "Project Daniel").

It's shocking, though, how many people don't know ANYTHING about what their government has been up to. In my own efforts to address this problem, I have written a one page flyer that gives some teasers on big political news that people are NOT getting from commercial media.

I've pulled together a number of news items, including the 14 permanent US military bases in Iraq, Seymour Hersh's reports about US commandos in Iran, the Downing Street Memo, and other matters, that people should know about-- and I hope that when people read these items all together they will realize how seriously they have been lied to and what a pickle this country is in.

I have been distributing my flyer all over the place in hopes of both educating and motivating people to take action. I've been e-mailing it to friends and family, asking that they spread it around; making copies on bright paper and slipping flyers into newspapers and shoppers; personally handing them out ("witnessing"); hanging them on skirt hangers in department store clothing racks (to be discovered later by shoppers looking through the clothes) and making them available in free newspaper kiosks.

I invite everyone to do the same.

The folks at ToppleBush.com have been kind enough to post the flyer on their site, where it is available for downloads.

Here is the link to the specific page on which the flyer is posted.

But also, check out the other flyers posted on the site. There are some great ones.

ToppleBush is worth a visit, if you haven't been there. Good articles and commentary, plus some fine merchandise including "liberal" t-shirts.

If you would like it in Word format, so that you can add, edit, etc.. pm me with your e-mail address and I'll send it.

1. Halliburton shareholders meeting
I was at the protest here in Houston this morning. I handed out copies of this flyer, and my fellow protesters told me that there was information on the flyer that they didn't know about (like the Downing Street Memo, the 14 permanent military bases, the Lancet study, etc...)

So even the anti-war crowd doesn't have all the facts.

Get out there and let people know what is going on.
