That way anyone who wants to see page after fucking page of bashing every single candidate, or even wants to participate in this most useless wastes of time, can step right into this forum.

GD has turned into a playground at recess.

3. I've begun ignoring the more blatant bashers
There is a campaign specific forum, i wish they would take it in there, then i'd love to see the threads displayed in "Latest" user configurable, ie i can choose not to see the lounge, and the campaign forum listed. The signal to noise ratio is becoming unbearable and I only expect it to get worse as the primaries get closer. I really hope that after the primaries we can unite behind the nominee.

4. I agree
I got tired of the candidate bashing, so I went and kicked up a thread entitled "Republican Lessons". Check it out and let's try to start up an intelligent non-candidate discussion. Maybe it'll catch on and more people will discuss interesting stuff instead of candidate bashing.

5. Moving them to the same place
certainly would clean up all the other currently affected forums. This sounds like a good idea on first reading- anyone have any thoughts on it?

6. There is a big difference...
...between discussing the issues and differences between candidates and the kind of in-house bashing that goes on at DU. I find it sickening. Yes, I have my favorite candiates but I will FULLY support whomever is the Dem nominee even if my guy doesn't win. I can hardly stand to come over here anymore.

7. I've been watching them
And they seem like a coordinated effort. I think the citizens of DU are among the most politically aware individuals in the US and can formulate their own opinions on which candidate is most appealing without reading "Look how much Clark sucks!" or "Dean's a jerk-off because" or "Kerry has bad hair".

It's bordering on ridiculous and in my opinion is counterproductive. Many say "just ignore them" but at times they take up most of GD. I was under the impression GD was a discussion of general democratic issues, not which candidate sucks the most.

8. Excellent Idea. That way
Edited on Fri Sep-19-03 11:31 AM by Gman
we could read real GD stuff that's got some quality discussion rather than somthing that's more and more along the lines of...

------------------

CLARK SODOMIZED 2 MONTH OLD MALE BABIES IN VIET NAM

Clark is a stupid DLC'er.

------------------

Either make some kind of candidate forum, or put a link to LBN on the home page so I can go straight there without having to look at all the other pure crap in the latest posts that are 95% idiotic GD posts.

I guess I could just bookmark LBN and go straight to it. In fact, I think I will.

--on edit--
Of course, Green bashing is always good sport.

11. No, I think they should end the bashing, period.
If someone hates Howard Dean, they have to have policy reasons for hating him.

If they don't like his health care plan, fine, tell us why.
If they don't like his elimination of tax cuts, tells us why.

Instead of posting "Deans health care plan is wrong and will cost us the election" post "The proposal to increase health care coverage which has been suggested by one candidate is wrong because....."

Debate the issues and the stands on the issues, not the candidates.

Bush sucks, by the way.
