All Springer's callers are RW'ers...and they're LOST!
At first I was getting a bit annoyed, as caller after caller would claim "I'm not a republican, but..." and then go on to all but genuflect to BushCo.

But in listending further, something else came through very clearly...the people calling are lost. They're genuinely afraid. Each of the three RW callers on this morning began reading a veritable phone-book of stuff, from Isreal and Gulf War I, to Hitler and WWII, and everything in between. The only common thread was the desire to kick someone's ass. Someone. Anyone. Someone just deserved a whoopin' and at the moment, Newsweek is it. Newsweek fits into our sitcom mentality, wherein every plot is wrapped up in 22 minutes. Meanwhile, Jerry's callers are still talking about their grandma's that were in Aushwitz, terra lurking everywhere, and that it is time for NEWSWEEK to pay!

It is sooo scary. Bush really does know how to appeal to the inner caveman like no other "leader" is history.

Springer, btw, is ripping 'em up. Finally, he gets to really talk back to his old teevee show audience and tell them to STFU.

1. BFEE did it's job
It's misdirected anger from 9/11. They are so afraid they are shitting themselves and they don't know what to do about it. Except kill, kill, kill.

2. I wish he would smack them down harder. There are many factual
inaccuracies in their comments that JS is not correcting.

3. Unfortunately, he isn't as up on his facts as he ought to be
That is why he needs a co-host. A brilliant second-fiddle wonk who can pull facts out of the air at a moment's notice, and be witty and charming at the same time. Screw Jerry...let's just find this perfect side-kick!

4. I got on yesterday and the first thing I told him was
"You really should tell these people that they're full of it!"

5. Well - not surprising
I could swear I read an article some where that stated that this administration is playing to the "reptalian brain" in people - obviously it is working out quite well for them so far.
