Christian persecution in this country
This is a fantastic list of how terribly persecuted thise individuals are. Here are a few, with a link. There are a lot!
**********************************************************************

I'm certainly glad this has finally been brought out into the open. The anti-Christian bias in our society has reached absurd proportions. Consider:

1. During the 1988 election campaign, George Bush said that Christians should not be considered patriots or real American citizens.

2. Bill Clinton steadfastly refuses to give any speeches at local churches.

3. Both major political parties are dominated by anti-Christians. The Republican party, for example, gave us such hard-core atheists as Pat Buchanan, Dan Quayle, Phyllis Schlafly and Ronald Reagan. And the Democrats have given us such personalities as the Rev. Martin Luther King and the Rev. Jesse Jackson-- both noted for their vicious attacks on all forms of Christianity.

4. Let's talk about the media. On Sunday mornings, nearly all major television channels broadcast pro-atheist shows; it is nearly impossible to find religious programming during that time period. Further, Madalyn Murray O'Hair has her own cable TV channel, while Pat Robertson has been unable to obtain one for himself.

2. But....
Dan, Phyllis, Pat and Ronnie are all part of the Fellowship, and a surprising note: Hillary is a friend of the Fellowship, I don't know in what capacity but it's not good.

3. We have reason to fear certain Christian "Persecutors"!!!
Well, not fear them,...but, they are a legitimate concern to us all because they seek to impose their extremist will.

7. Dominionists are the most frightening people
I've been following them since JR Rushdooney. At that time, they were merely kooks. Now they are in power. Handmaid's Tale - here we come!

4. Persecution envy would be a more appropriate term.
Christians are not persecuted in this country so they basically vacillate between making shit up out of nothing and seeing every little "snub" as persecution.

Let's see: They have tax free status, they are free to worship, there is a church on every corner in the US, they have christian books, magazines, radio and tv nationwide, but because they aren't allowed to bray like hyenas at the beginning of every public function and try to force children to learn Christianity in public schools, they are "persecuted".

9. They use this "persecution message" to control their flock
A way to make them close ranks around their leader--and tithe.

10. You are spot on about that
They wish they were persecuted, so they spin certain things in order to make it seem as though they are persecuted.

They should go somewhere where Christians really are persecuted. They'd change their tune in a hurry.

8. Just Because One Opposes Christian Influence In Politics.........
.....doesn't mean you are anti-Christian. I often think that some loudly self professed "Christians" act and talk like anything but a Christian. It is important to separate religion from politics; politics already creates enough cold and combat wars without adding the intolerances religions have for each other, that would only make things worse.

I just thought this toungue in cheek list points out the silliness of Christians pretending to be persecuted in this country.
