Iraq War Hero Struggling To Get Navy Paychecks
Wounded Soldier Says Payments From Navy Arrive Months Late

I'm sure the little plastic stickers on the back of the SUVs
that say "Support Our Troops" comfort this buy a whole bunch.

:puke:

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- A local Iraq war hero who was wounded in battle is fighting to save his home after he said the U.S. Navy repeatedly delayed getting him his paychecks.

Petty Officer David Vernaza and his family have dipped into the last of their savings, and he cannot return to work because of his injuries and medication, WESH 2 News reported.

The Navy does not have an exact number on how many others may be going through the same problem, but it is unlikely that Vernaza is the only one who has had trouble receiving paychecks.

Vernaza was injured in Iraq more than a year ago. He still has shrapnel in his shoulder from a roadside bomb, and he has a Purple Heart to show for it.

1. Just another reason why the recruitment stats are down
People are getting smart to the governments tactics of taking care of their troops after the battle ends... They are in for a rude awakening and I hate it for them. They deserve all we can give them.
