To violate decades of Senate rule & tradition re filibuster, or not...

Hagel 10 days ago;

"But you can't give up a minority rights tool in the interest of the country, like the filibuster," . . . . "The United States Senate is a minority rights institution unique in the world,"

Hagel today;

"I believe that all of the president's nominees deserve an up or down vote," Hagel said

4. All they do is
do talking points. Even then I'm sure of it. They don't have a single point to make on their own.

3. Don't they get that Bush was elected for his personality, not his policies
Yet they blindly follow him off the cliff.

Bush was elected because of his Karen Hughes Constructed Aw Shuck Rancher personality (tm). Not because people want nut judges or social security "reform." You would think recent polls on Bush job approval rating would wake some of these Repugs up.

7. Bush=sinking ship
You'd think they'd know better than to attach themselves to an unpopular lame-duck president, and that's what makes me suspicious of just how they expect to remain the majority party after their boy dips below 35% approval.

6. Hagel's ass is probably still sore from the
whipping he got from Rove for the first comment. Clearly, it isn't going to happen again.

8. 2703-1

With a record like that, does anyone really think the Republican Senate is capable of exercising advice and consent? That they are unable to exercise their own judgement. They've traded their individual autonomy for a pack mentality...safety in numbers. They have been trained well, they are the new McSenators. And they are the unindicted co-conspirators who are allowing this criminal administration to destroy this country. Oh well, let them hide behind their boy-king and tie their political future to his agenda. Let them change the rules and take full credit for every bit of legislation that hurts 98% of the Americans. Let them install their wacked out activist RW judges.

I've come to the conclusion that things need to be get a lot worse before the vast majority of Americans finally wake up and admit that the party they support is destroying their future. Only then will we get the overwhelming majority to throw these criminals out and give us a clear playing field to implement reform. And then, we can use the same rules that they are creating precedents with to roll back the Republican agenda and replace it with a progressive/liberal agenda that will finally have no political opposition for decades to come.

9. What I've learned the past couple of days.
2703-1. Republican McSenators.

These drones are incapable of making informed decisions, independent of the Queen Bee (Karl Rove).

If I were the Democrats, I'd bring banana's onto the Senate floor and do some juggling. Better yet, plan to spend a lot of quality time in their districts and start getting to really know their constituents. Work on BBV issues and plot a strategy to take back our government from these Elmer Gantry con men.
