And this is why I stopped watching ABC News
ABC News continues its obsession with Christianity in an episode of "20/20" (9 p.m. today, KSTP, Ch. 5) that examines the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Coming soon: ABC looks into that Krispy Kreme doughnut that looks like the Virgin Mary

1. Oh good grief
Edited on Fri May-20-05 11:28 AM by FreedomAngel82
This is getting beyond obsessive. I guess there's no longer any other religions in this country.

14. A. (Always) B. (be) C. (converting)
You too can pander to the lowest common denominator of homespun superstition and bigotry by remembering a simple rule. It's as simple as ABC!
Always Be Converting.

3. Got news for you- they are all doing it! NBC, Fox, et al! Do what I do:
I have just entirely turned off the TV for news(except for the occasional dose of the Daily Show w/ Jon Stewart, CSPAN and Sports and local weather) When the Tour de Lance starts, I'll watch OLN, but otherwise, it's only Netflix movies for me , Air America Radio and the internet and some good books!

Meanwhile, this country is falling apart, the economy is on the verge of tanking, Iraq and Afghanistan are on the verge of civil war and the GOP is trying to destroy our democracy this next week with the removal of the filibuster. And if you watched the "news" these days, you'd think that what's wrong with the world is Michael Jackson, Newsweek and Dems who hate Blacks becoming Judges (aka Janice Rogers Brown) and that the end of days are coming....

Uneffing believable... :puke:

8. Used to watch ABC News for as long as I remember
I liked it when Peter Jennings took over and used his POV as a foreign correspondent. I think that it had the least fuzz and cuddly stories.

Then, shortly before he announced his illness - around Easter, I think - I've noticed that change and switched to CBS which, so far, is interesting and no nonsense. Like yesterday's story about how army recruiters can come to schools, can get students' addresses and phone numbers - and can do this by law.

11. I wonder why the change
Maybe he isn't involved in everything like he used to be and people are running these shitty stories? I may not care for Jennings when he tried to tell people the "lun gun man" theory of Kennedy's death (which he knows is bullshit) but at least before ABC never had this crap on. I don't watch the news anymore either. I read everything here. The local news is fine (they do pretty good stories) it's just the corporate whore stuff.

4. Does anyone know what the ratings were on the other shows
like this. There was some multipart series called "The Resurection". I don't remember what chanel it was on. I don't watch them. I'm a Catholic, but I really don't want this stuff on TV.

12. Might be part of the May "sweeps" so will have to wait another week
The "Resurrection" is on NBC and, to add insult to injury - in my mind - is in the same time slot as "the West Wing." I suppose NBC's way of atoning for showing a great, decent and intelligent Democratic President.

9. All the free stuff
Edited on Fri May-20-05 11:40 AM by oneold1-4u
The man who made all the great movies in the 20th Century said that the Bible was created for making the most money. It was all free! Anyone can use it for their own purpose! It is kind of mind boggling, to think of all the power and riches it has been used to obtain. I truly believe that when the truth is seen, there will be millions turning away from todays standard religions! Faith isn't in a book or church! It is in the heart and mind of the individual!

10. I got an idea...
Maybe they could do a story on how these people were so mortified that their leader, ostensibly the Son of God, actually died, that they robbed his grave, hid the body, said he had risen fro mthe dead, and accidentally created a world religion O8)

13. Even the History Channel is doing this
Last night they had some 'end of the world' crap on. I saw them have an interview with Tim LeHaye yammering abut his "Left Behind" shit. I turned to another channel with some shit about Evil Knieval, Jr. So at the end of that ...... ? He makes his jump and then grabs the mic ....... and 'thanks Jaybus'

Its everywhere!

The only thng I take heart from is that I see this in many ways as a fad. Not exactly the same .... but quite similar.

So where are jeans with the makers name in 3" letters on the butt? Mood rings? Macrame? Beanie Babies?

I hope I'm right in saying .... this too shall pass.
