Poll question: How much power does chimp really have in this administration?
I have ALWAYS been of the mind that he has none. Way before 9-11, I saw him as a mere figurehead, a fake "down-home" cowboy with a fake accent designed to put a palatable face on horrible policies. Nothing that has happened since has changed my mind.

It is obvious to me that * is dumb enough to believe in the neo-cons' policies without understanding anything about them. So who really runs things? My bet is Cheney, one of the most regressive politicians in American history. He is our true "president."

Perhaps you disagree, however. How much power do you think the little thug has?

3. What is the point of letting Bush off the hook for his admin and policies?
Why do you want Bush to be blameless?

I see this come up on DU all the time -- everything is somebody else's fault, not Bush's.

I just don't get why GWB is not held accountable. Please explain why this is important to you.

No. I will not explain anything I DID NOT SAY AND DO NOT FEEL. I will repeat what I did say. * has no power. He is stupid. The word blameless never appears. And if you think I have any desire to make excuses for the monkey, you don't me or my posts or my history on DU.

5. don't take my comments so personally - it is a common thing at DU
and I am just trying to understand it. . .

If you say someone has no power, then ultimately they are blameless or not responsible.

7. No matter how POWERLESS he is within the Administration...
...he still has the power to BE HONEST with the world. He CHOOSES not to be.

That would put an end to a WHOLE lotta shit. But as long as he CHOOSES to go along with the program, he shares the blame.

4. I'd say that if the ringleaders of this administration should ever wind up
behind bars for war crimes, the chimp himself will only be there on visiting day.
He probably wouldn't even be called to testify, knowing absolutely nothing of value.

6. On the stuff he cares about he calls the shots
Taxes, war and rolling back the new deal; the anti-environmental, anti-labor pro-business agenda are all his. He sets the tone and the policy. Stuff he doesn't care about, like the economy or north korea or nuclear proliferation he just ignores, so no one else pays any attention to it either.
