OpTruth Benefit last night was awesome - a crudely recorded sample

Went to NYC for the OpTruth Benefit last night. I brought along my little iPod-like gadget (MobiBlu) and was able to make a very crude recording of Tim Robbins playing some wickedly good guitar, OpTruth soldiers talking about who REALLY support the troops and Janeane Garafalo talking about the corrupt Bushies, Cheneys and consirators. I got to meet Randi, Al Franken, Paul Reikhoff and other OpTruth heroes. What an awesome night it was!! Excuse the WHOOOING - I was wearing the gadget and was a bit too exhuberant - not to mention tipsy :)

Enjoy, it's about 25 minues - quality varies. Unfortunately, music doesn't sound as good as it did live. Tim Robbins has a lot of promise as a musician. The man exudes passion - as did every other person who took the stage last night.

And they're terrific.

It was nice to see and talk to the OpTruth vets, but I was a little disappointed in the 'celebrity' MC's.

Jeanane did her rambling bit and then high-tailed it out of there, and Randi had a hard time reading from her cue cards (and what the Hell was she was wearing? Yikes.)

Al was great, Robbins was nifty but I wish he would have forgone the guitar bit....I just couldn't get into it.

That Laura singer-person was incredible, and Milo-Z rocked.

All in all though, it was a fun Saturday night and it raised money and awareness for a fantastic cause.
