Stephanie Miller talking about a new poll (on judicial nominees)
Edited on Mon May-23-05 09:13 AM by wildflower
She says the poll shows 4 out of 5 Americans believe that the Senate should examine the president's judicial nominees closely.

I can't find this anywhere on Google. Did anyone hear it?

I keep thinking it's ABC but I checked their front page and didn't find it.*

ON EDIT: Found it and posted in LBN - see http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=102x1493398

*Here's one of ABC's top stories, though:

Can Humans Live With 'Maneaters'?

Some biologists say wild animals are getting too used to encountering people and not fearing them. Is it our responsibility to make them fear us again?

Sigh.

Associated Press-Ipsos poll conducted by Ipsos-Public Affairs. May 17-19, 2005. N=1,028 adults nationwide. MoE ± 3.1.

"As you may know, the president nominates federal judges, but the appointments must be approved by the U.S. Senate. Do you think the Senate should give the president's judicial nominees the benefit of the doubt and approve them without a lot of scrutiny or take an assertive role in examining each nominee?"

Give Benefit Of the Doubt/ Take Assertive Role/ Unsure

3. I had heard about a poll yesterday morning
I don't remember where I heard it, too much going on yesterday morning. The poll was on the filibuster and most Americans thought something to this affect: "it doesn't matter, just get it over with". I was floored that so many people are still so ignorant about what this administration is doing to our so-called "free and democratic" society.
