Dear DUers; STOP SAYING THAT!!!
Why are some DUers posting about the "peaceful" Iraq elections???!!

The election day in Iraq was NOT peaceful! It was, IN FACT, the highest level of attacks of any day since US/UK invaded!*

HOW can we EVER complain about the rightwingnuts not knowing the FACTS, when we ourselves don't??!

VERIFY. VERIFY. VERIFY.

HOW can we EVER get the TRUTH OUT there when we post untrue statements ourselves??!

VERIFY. VERIFY. VERIFY.

PLEASE! :)

*Some of the dozens of articles readily available that state the FACT;

In all, there were more attacks than on any other day in Iraq since the US
... this election with the highest level of attacks we have ever seen. ...

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A52500-2005Jan31.html

with 260 attacks taking place on election day, the largest number since ...

The 260 attacks recorded on election day in fact marked the highest intensity of insurgent violence yet...

"The number of insurgent attacks on Sunday, 260, was the highest ever recorded

On Election Day the American military in Iraq had shut the place down. ...
dead and its 260 insurgent attacks were the highest number of any single day ...

14. They did mention those rebuilt schools falling apart already. Oh wait...
that's not good news.

Well, except for Halliburton who gets to rebuild them again and charge for them. Again.

20. Wish I could do it! I'll burn your house down, charge you for putting the
fire out, then charge you ten times the cost to rebuild your house that I burnt down that I rebuild so shoddily it falls apart within a year and charge you to haul away the remains so I can charge you ten times the cost to shoddily rebuild it...

Don't we ALL wish we could!

Only bush's base, the "haves and have mores" get to do it, though.

8. There hasn't been a peaceful day in Iraq in
the last 14 years. Actually longer, right Lord Curzon. MILLIONS have died.

"The occupiers should leave immediately," he explains while sipping tea, "They only came with their own interests and we can manage Iraq for ourselves. We do not need them for any reason."

10. That Detroit War is pretty violent, but let's put not 150,000, not 15,000,
not 1,500. Let's put 150 US soldiers into that Detroit War and see how many are IED'd to death over a year...

*My usual response to that particular rightwingnut crap. :D

REALLY doing fab, seeing as how they're worse than ever in Year 5 of The Great American Adventure.
