The "liberal left media" is always the ultimate blame for anything. They are so convinced we are in a "righteous war" and that Tillman's death was collateral damage. I couldn't have said it more succinctly. The old "Rally-Round-a-dead-person" technique is a time honored classic of tyrannies throughout history. This bunch have surpassed their predecessors by instantly creating a mythos around their "chosen ones" as soon as one of them realizes, "Hey! This can be politically useful!" I personally can't think of too many historical instances where the word of those who personally knew and loved someone counted for absolutely nothing. The usual progression is something like this, "Hey everyone, for the next month, we're all gonna scream at the top of our lungs about _________ (insert exploited individual du jour), and not let anyone bring up anything else. Got it?" Anyone who dares question the fable is attacked in any possible manner, rational or otherwise. Eventually, the object of the Right's constant harping is subsumed, and some other poor soul is thrust into their opportunistic spotlight. A vicious cycle, to be sure, but one day it will certainly backfire. It almost did with Terri Schiavo. The breaking point will be soon enough, I think.

that Pat Tillman was a high profile soldier than your average soldier. Most of your average soldiers don't have the opportunity to turn down a pro football contract that paid millions to go serve in the Army.

I feel so dirty after that. Anyhow, I have nothing more to say except that those people are so dilusional. They simply can not live with the idea that good soldiers are dying needless deaths. Perhaps, if the troops in Afghanistan were not so thinly spread because more troops are too busy in Iraq avoiding IEDs, there would have been enough coordination of activities to avoid the Tillman death.
