Ok. So, lets say I want to set up a new PAC. How do I start a church?

Seems to me that this would be the proper way to go.

Republicans are becoming more and more insistant that Chruches have the right to campaign and promote any candidate that they choose, based on the concept of free speech.

Many people have been looking into ways to report such churches to the IRS, since campaigning for a political candidate would put their IRS tax-exempt status into jeopardy.

But as more and more pressure is applied to these corrupt church leaders, the more I hear about "free speech" and how it should be the right of the Church to endorse any candidate they choose.

This leds me to ask:

How do I go about setting up a Church, and how quickly can it be done?

I think having a tax-free political organization that promotes progressive thought and liberal candidates might be pretty useful.

And it doesn't necessicarliy have to be Christian, even. It could be the Holy Church of Joe, for all I care.

How can I get the same tax-free status that people like Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell enjoy?

Additionally, before I get criticized for this, I would just like to point out that I am not being any more blasphemous or disrespectful of religion than the 700 Club or Focus on the Family.

Rent a cheap storefront in a bad hood. fill it with chairs and benches. A sound system is optional, but some way to play LPs and CDs of gospel music is generally necessary. Figure out a name, paint a sign, and file a DBA form. Call yourself the minister.

Surrender your ego and become awareness itself. When you've "become"
that, then your heart will bring people in your life beyond politics
altogether in spiritual communion as your awakening helps their own.

Your church might turn out to be political, like that of Jesus christ,
or merely an organization for you and your devotees to have a meeting
place and spend tome together... but the "organization" will be quite
irrelevant to you as enlightenment will be the only voice that
speaks.
