I was born December 26, 1961 in Columbus Ohio, but I consider my home to be Columbia Maryland. My family moved there when I was7. Graduated from Wilde Lake High School in 1979 and went on a football scholarship to Oklahoma State University under Jimmy Johnson and Dave Waanstedt. I also played baseball for Gary Ward and proud to say we went to the College World Series two years in a row. I feel honored that I was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in the first year of its existence.
Gee, Jimmy, forget to mention that it's the OKLAHOMA Baseball Hall of Fame?
After my junior year I signed with the Baltimore Orioles and played parts of five years in the major leagues. After two years in Japan and one in Mexico I retired from baseball, came back to Oklahoma and began a new career in radio.
FYI, players as mediocre as Jimmy boy don't "retire", they are told not to return.
"Many of you have heard my wife, Julie, on the air with me and hear stories about our five children. Trabes is 17 and graduates from high school this year (I know, I don’t look old enough), Chelsea is 15, Beau is 14, Katelyn is 13 and little Courtney is 12. My whole life revolves around my family, so I sure hope you enjoy hearing about the latest episodes in the Traber household."
Gee, Trabes will be draftable age next year! I know he will be proud to send his first born to the War for Oil!
