WHAT IS UP WITH GLENN BECK?

Okay --

We all know that Clear Channel is a mixed bag... BUT don't they even care when one of their employes goes insane and threatens to kill someone, he disagrees with politically, while on the air?

Here is the excerpt:

From the May 17 broadcast of The Glenn Beck Program:

BECK: Hang on, let me just tell you what I'm thinking. I'm thinking about killing Michael Moore, and I'm wondering if I could kill him myself, or if I would need to hire somebody to do it. No, I think I could. I think he could be looking me in the eye, you know, and I could just be choking the life out -- is this wrong? I stopped wearing my What Would Jesus -- band -- Do, and I've lost all sense of right and wrong now. I used to be able to say, "Yeah, I'd kill Michael Moore," and then I'd see the little band: What Would Jesus Do? And then I'd realize, "Oh, you wouldn't kill Michael Moore. Or at least you wouldn't choke him to death." And you know, well, I'm not sure.

Has Glenn Beck watched Fahrenheit 911? Has he looked into any of the facts that were explored by Moore? Has he looked into how the debunkers of the film have been proven to be WRONG?

The last thing Michael Moore needs, is to have some wise assed ex-disc slinger, ramping up the crazy people out there and lighting a fire under some cowboy "Tim McVeigh" type.

Has anyone here ever heard his show?

That Michael Moore is a life member of the NRA and a pretty good shot from what I've heard. Mr. Beck would be well advised that if he's making a legitimate threat and not just running his chickenhawk mouth, that he'd be better off making bullying comments against us pacifists, since he knows we won't pay him back in kind.

when I posted this earlier. There were several emails/letters/faxes to clear channel, Premiere Networks, The FCC, the sponsors, etc. I haven't received any reply to any of the ones I sent... but I know other DU members got a form letter response - basically if he didn't make any lewd (ala Howard Stern) commentary, the pretty much don't care what he does. I'm still hoping that he gets fired... but then again, I'm still hoping for a real re-count in Ohio too.

I am going to write CC and the FCC a complaint and was thinking of doing this ASAP...

I don't listen to him, just heard the clip and saw a piece in Media Matters about it.

Who does listen to this guy?

I contacted each of Glenn Beck's advertisers. I received the following response from DirecTV:

Thank you for writing regarding comments made on May 17 by radio host Glen Beck. We understand your concerns and would like to assure you that we have decided to end our relationship with The Glen Beck Program.

I guess our efforts were worth it! DirecTV deserves credit for taking this action.

I had a customer tell me that he actually agreed with what that assclown, Beck said! This guy is always trying to get under my skin at the service desk. He comes in for lottery tickets, and while he waits for me to run them up, he constantly raves about Bush and slams the Democrats for one thing or another. He knows that I can't come back at him. Not that I would. I refuse to lower myself to that besides, it would just give him a reason to complain to the store manager.

He's a self-loathing, born again Christian recovered junkie and alcoholic. When his radio show tanks, he'll fall off the wagon.

Listen to his show a few times. I have. He whines about it all the time.

I'm an alcoholic (161 days of sobreity). He makes AA look bad.
