Sorry people, but I say no compromise
let the chips fall where they may:

They want to ban stem cell research
They want to privitize social security
They want to censor HBO
They want prayer in schools
They want unchecked power

let it happen, and lets see what 2006 brings

I dispise the repukes, but am very skeptical of the dems, that they would have a deal in the interest of the people. For the last 6 years they gave everything away through compromise, I have no doubt that they will continue to do so

call their bluff, and lets see how the "people" feel in 2006

1. No shit!
I feel absolutely ill. Owen, Brown and Pryor, we are fucked. This is why we need to purge the lot of the traitorous bastards. No need though, Bush will close them down soon enough and SCOTUS will say he has the legitimate right to do so.

3. It is over. They don't
even need 06 ... but they will lie and cheat again
just to have more territory.

The sick, old, SocSec/Medicare people should begin
now to get their affairs in order as they will
not live as long as they should.

2. Funny thing about perspective.....

Sometimes my only solace is that rather tired saying..." be careful what you ask for".... or put into popular musical parlance..."you get what you deserve".....

5. Without compromise, Scalia or Thomas would be Chief Justice
Bush would put up Scalia or Thomas as chief justice when Rehnquist retires. That would be unacceptable. This compromise preserves the right to fight such an appointment. Bush has to think twice before he nominates an extreme right winger to the court.

8. I need to disagree...
Compromising was purely appropriate in this case. The whole fiasco (brought on by these paethic repukes) was rediculous and I am glad cooler heads and moderates prevailed. This is already being protrayed as the Republicans blinking and the freepers are flipping out right now.
