It seems to me folks, that we are indeed the 'Democratic Underground'
So how does that all compute? There are 'mainstream dems', 'moderate dems', and so on - where do we fit, do we have any power, and where do we go from here?

I am suddenly feeling the name of this website more each day. Underground. Almost, at times, like we have been swept aside into the sewers far from view in the name of moderation and selling out perhaps.

Maybe I am wrong. Sometimes I love to be wrong. Am I? If so, I am willing to learn where I am wrong and take hope in that.

1. You're kidding, right?
There is nothing "underground" about this site.

3. Well, I dunno about that :)
I think the views of 9/11 and * seem underground compared to many MS dems thesedays.

DU is awash in mainstream, establishment Democrats ... for some, this may be a good thing; for others, not ... but that's the way it is ...

perhaps DU was once truly an underground; that which was, has been long since buried ...

those who criticize elected Democrats are now routinely referred to as "haters" ... our motives are regulary questioned ... we are asked "why are you still a Democrat when all you do is "complain" ??? "

i really wonder what the makeup of DU is ... what is the actual mix of "mainstream" Democrats versus "underground Democrats" versus "non-Democrats"??? ... perhaps it's time for a poll on this ...

4. i think we seriously need to consider
an alternative. in spite of mr. pitts optimism, i just don't agree.

our democratic leaders have done nothing but roll over and sell us out.

they don't have the will, courage or inclination to do what needs to be done, and that is make a stand.

i no longer expect anything from the democratic party.

i no longer expect any type of fairness from my government.

i no longer have any kind of respect for my fellow american, who is more concerned with some stupid idol/survivor crap than the dismantling of the very foundation of our once great country.

i am no longer going to support those in power who will do anything just to stay in power.

i am just sick.

there needs, at some point, a realization that the democratic or republican party is not the answer.

and i sure as hell am not willing to replace either with the greens.

coulda, shoulda, woulda, whatever. we are where we are at IN PART because of the green party. they will NEVER get cooperation from me.

but another option needs to start to gel. another coalition to form.

we will never regain anything with the current crop of democrats, so i say let them ALL lose. it will amount to the same thing anyway. with absolute power will come absolute corruption. maybe americans will see them for the, dare i say it, NAZIS that they really are.

the democrats will fight each other to see who can out republican the republicans, and we will STILL end up with the effing republican agenda.

i can't support those who are taking us down this fecal stream without ANY type of paddle.

the only way to start with completely new blood is IF they all lose.

in the meanwhile, america will justly receive the major clusterfuck it so richly deserves.

maybe at that point we will care enough to hit the streets.

again, i am so sick.

5. I can relate to that
Seems like so often we are left drifting in the wind. It seems less like R vs D and more like us vs them at this point.

We teter on the brink of facism and people want to go with the status quo so as not to upset the applecart and what they have.

Like watching a slow train wreck at times.
