SUN DEFENDS SADDAM PRISON PHOTOS

The Sun has published new pictures of Saddam Hussein -- and two of his top lieutenants -- a day after it showed the ex-Iraqi leader in his underpants. The newspaper said it was proud to run the photos it described as "iconic images", despite claims they breached Saddam's human rights. (BBC) http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/4568515.stm

3. Tell it to The Hague at your war crimes trial
I don't have any sympathy for Saddam Hussein, but if the rights and protections for prisoners of war spelled out in the Geneva Conventions don't apply to the lowest and the least, then they don't apply to anyone. Is the Sun willing to accept, then, that British prisoners can likewise be subject to publication of humiliating photos?

Oh, and let's not forget the American military officials who supplied the photos so that they could deal a "body blow" to the Iraq insurgency. I see that eight more Americans joined the ranks of the Honored Dead over the past couple of days. The insurgents sure did take a body blow, didn't they?

Soulless motherfuckers.

4. "We will sue the newspaper and everyone who helped..."

"We will sue the newspaper and everyone who helped in showing these pictures," said Saddam Hussein's chief lawyer Ziad Al-Khasawneh, speaking from Jordan."

Anyone know if Ramsey Clark is still on the defense team?

The Sun says this is an "extraordinary iconic news image"
