Hey! YO! Hello! THIS is what we need to do!

Get a DU group together (or just a drive) and send care packages to the troops funded/donated by all of us and include just one thing: From Democratic Underground with love and peace.

If we say we're going to support the troops and try to get them home alive, let's put our money/food where our mouths are. A little good PR never hut either.

ANyone? Dupe? Flame?

--I'dgive up my tax cut for one soldier's life.

1. Great idea. I'd like suggest an organization where soldiers can request

things they need, not just books. The soldiers are very grateful for the packages sent.

3. Why not give that stuff to the needy in this country, instead?

The troops have paying jobs...there are people here who go hungry, without basic necessities, oftentimes not even a home. Why do we fall into that trap of trying to act like Republicans, instead of standing up for Democratic ideals--the first of which is making sure people in America are well-fed and cared for.

Just my two cents....
